The Faculty of Public Health Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang (FKM Unimus) strengthens its health science by establishing Master of Public Health Study Program. This new master program has obtained a permit based on the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia number 792/E/0/2022 on November 2, 2022. The MPH program would open admission for new students in the even semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. This establishment also aimed to respond to the high interest and demand in higher study to the master’s degree for health workers and new graduates of the Undergraduate in Public Health.
“We will not wait until the new academic year to accept new students. In the even semester of this current academic year, we will immediately open the registrations because there are many prospective students who have waited,” said the Dean of FKM Unimus, Dr. Sayono, S.KM, M.Kes (Epid). “The lecturer resources, curriculum, and learning facilities are also ready to organize the learning process”, he added. Furthermore, the Head of the MPH Study Program, Dr. Ratih Sari Wardani explained, “For the time being, the MPH study program will open two concentrations, namely Epidemiology and Health Promotion. In the next academic year, the concentration of Health Administration and Policy will be opened. All concentrations opened will lead into strengthening digital health issues which became a necessity in managing public health in the 4.0 era”.
This MPH study program has a good market considering that FKM Unimus also has an Undergraduate in Public Health so that graduates can directly continue their studies without choosing another campus. Unimus also designed a curriculum of this MPH to be completed on time in four semesters.
