Twenty-six students of Public Health, Unimus, diagnosed community health problems in Godan Village, Tawangharjo, Grobogan. After a week of observation and data collection in the community, it finally led to a Village Community Meeting (MMD) attended by the Village Head and his apparatus, the community, and also the Head of Tawangharjo Health Center. The main health problem found was the prevalence of hypertension.
The findings of the health problem in community will be followed up with a series of programs that will be implemented in the next two weeks. Various activities that will be carried out as an effort to overcome these main health problems include conducting medical check ups and educating to continuously maintain a healthy lifestyle. In addition, the students also invite the community to maintain fitness and create mind relaxation by doing morning exercises together.
The field practice of Unimus Public Health students was conducted for a month and will end on Monday, February 19, 2023. Considering the wide area of Godan Village, the students were divided into 2 groups to implement the program more effectively. The first group involved 13 students under the guidance of Dr. Ratih Sari Wardani, S.Si, M.Kes, while the second group with the other 13 students was accompanied by Dr. Didik Sumanto, S.KM, M.Kes (Epid).
Apart from being a medium to improve skills in diagnosing public health problems for students, the program was also expected to be a driving force for independent activities by the community after the program is over. The education that has been given is expected to be implemented in everyday life by the people in Godan Village so that the physical and mental health conditions of the community are maintained.
