The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP), Dr. Jebul Suroso named as the Most Inspirational Rector. The award is due to his leadership brought the institution committed in supporting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The award was from the Association of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise Owners (ASPIKMAS). On this occasion, the procession was witnessed by Banyumas Regent, Ir Achmad Husein, and thousands of MSME owners in Banyumas at the Ukhuwah Islamiyah UMP Auditorium, Sunday (29/05).

Pujiyanto SE, the Chairman of ASPIKMAS, explained that from the beginning of the period, UMP committed to collaborating with ASPIKMAS. According to him, UMP provides services and facilities for MSME continuity. “It is a fact. We have approached several campuses, but in our opinion, UMP under Dr. Jebul Suroso’s leadership has provided great services and a full commitment to MSME. So it becomes our indicator to give this appreciation,” he said.

Furthermore, UM Purwokerto Rector, Dr. Jebul Suroso explained that the award is from overall UM Purwokerto programs that has been prepared to be MSME campus. “We are thankful that we receive the award that makes UMP a house for MSME. We dedicate a-five hectare circular land in the field, to display MSME products organized on Sunday Morning. We previously had organized it for Ramadhan market,” he said.

UMP also assists in business aspects and other products would continue to be pursued. “There are more than 300 MSMEs in UM Purwokerto. Gradually, along with the increase in visitors, we will open UM Purwokerto to public. UM Purwokerto will be full of MSME because it can strengthen communities’ financial conditions, especially by MSMEs,” he said. [] UMP / CHERD
