Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik (UMG) continues to establish effective cooperation with various partners, both national and international partnership. One of them is the collaboration with Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UnisZa) Malaysia which has been going on since 2017. Both parties have produced various collaborative programs such as joint conferences, webinars, and joint publication activities.
Recently, the Faculty of Islamic Education UMG and the Faculty of Contemporary Islam UnisZa have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) as support and synergy. The Rector of UMG hoped that this collaboration would continue and develop in all faculties at UMG, and be a good start for the university.
Besides teaching, the collaboration also includes research and community service by lecturers and students. For example the international seminar titled “Preserving Islamic Education and Civilization” on February 14, 2022. The seminar was one of the results of cooperation between UMG and UnisZa.
The UnisZa delegation has visited UMG to discuss the implementation of the cooperation that has been and would be established in the future. On the previous visit five months ago, the UnisZa team discussed with the UMG Vice Chancellor III, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, and several other UMG staff about the implementation of the cooperation that has been and would be established further. The cooperation between UMG and UniSZa can enrich the academic experience of students and staff, and strengthen UMG’s position in the international level.
