Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) organized an International Short Course since Wednesday (18/05) until the middle of June. It is managed by the Health Science faculty (FIKES) and raises the theme “Collaboration Therapy in Musculoskeletal Neurological Disorder”. Interestingly, the participants are not only from the White Campus but also tens students from the other universities. It counted 70 participants from Brazil, Vietnam, Egypt, Gambia, Yamen, Malaysia, the Philippines, and many other countries.
The Vice-Rector I, Prof Dr. Samsul Arifin, M.Si mentioned that the short course became an academic collaboration between international universities, especially the collaboration with the White Campus. Although it has different places and times, the program was conducted by utilizing technology.
Furthermore, he assumed that the short course could improve the international atmosphere in FIKES UMM. He also expected that there would be other collaborations in research and publication. In short, the online meeting could be transformed into a face-to-face meeting.
The Vice-Dean III of FIKES UMM, Rakhmad Rosadi, SST, FT, MSc.PT appreciated the initiation of a short course to expand the International relationship discussing more musculoskeletal neurological disorders. In the future, a similar program will be organized in offline implementation due to the end of the pandemic.
“So I hope our International friends can visit and experience studying in Indonesia and vice-versa, our students in UMM can experience studying in various countries,” he said.
In the short course, FIKES UMM also invited various experts from several countries. Dr Ironse Oliveira Silva from UniEVANGELICA Brazil; Assoc. Prod. Rumpa Boonsincukh from Thailand; Owen Nkaka, Ph.D. from English and many other speakers reported on the UMM site.
