UMMI Students Developed Tourist Site With QR Code Education Technology

Student Association Team from Biology Science, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (UMMI) joined the Holistic Development and Village Empowerment Program (PHP2D). The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology held the 2021 Program, followed by the UMMI students. In Geopark Ciletuh, Caringin Nunggal Village, Sukabumi Regency, there was a site of bamboo cultivation, at least 25 kinds of bamboo in the village, which also became the major community as local exporters in West Java Province.

“Caringin Nunggal Village has a tourist site of Bamboo Winden Park. It is an implementation to educate and change the community’s mindset who believe that bamboo is a disadvantageous plant because of the way they consume clean water sources and is dangerous,” Putri Nida, the team leader of UMMI Students, said.

She continued, the Bamboo Winden Park shortly became one of the educational tourism destinations on bamboos and one typical characteristic of Caringin Nunggal Village. By PHP2D, they hoped it might create a community paradigm and behaviour that understand and be aware of bamboo potency, educate the local community and Bamboo Winden Park tourists in educational tourism destinations, and become an alternative to helping the community welfare. “The tourist who visits might understand various kinds of bamboo and the uniqueness of each of them and might enjoy the natural beauty nearby, even to have a selfie photograph. The attraction only exists in the rural community, not the urban,” he said, as reported in radarsukabumi.com, Wednesday (20/10). [] UMMI / Diktilitbang
