Muhammadiyah Diktilitbang Council held Workshop of Research Proposal Assistance for Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA) by Kemenristekdikti/BRIN – Ministry of Research and Technology-National Research and Innovation Agency, Saturday (13/02). Prof. Khudzaifah Dimyati opened the agenda revealing that this assistance aims to improve the quality of PTMA research. “The problem is there are several PTMA whose research institutions have not clusters yet. Therefore we will also assist in the cluster acquisition,” he explained. Deputy Chair of Muhammadiyah Diktilitbang Council hoped the agenda can improve the quality of PTMA research.
Prof. Muhtadi, M.Si., the speaker from UM Surakarta,, also explained the transformation of the old research guideline to the new one and the latest structure and patterns. “We need to look into Research and Community Services (PPM) Guideline 8th edition and understand the evaluation process of the research proposal. Not only to know the guideline but also to understand the items to be assessed,” he said. He also explained that the government aims to increase the nation’s competitiveness in the number of International publications, intellectual property rights and many others. “All of these are borne to the lecturers. Therefore, the government expects the number of researchers to increase from year to year,” he said.
In addition, Achmad Romadhoni, S.P. M.Sc. Ph.D, shared experiences and tips to qualify for a research grant from Kemenristekdikti/BRIN. He explained that the duties of PTMA lecturers were in four values ‘catur dharma‘, one of which included research. “The institution will find it helpful if the lecturers can do research. Therefore the lecturers have to understand this mandate,” he explained online to 520 lecturers of PTMA.
