On Young Researchers Competition, CYS Indonesia Collaborates with STKIP Muhammadiyah Barru

STKIP Muhammadiyah Barru collaborated with CYS Indonesia, an organization engaged in the development of science and technology for the younger generation, in Lomba Peneliti Belia 2023 ‘2023 Young Researchers Competition in South Sulawesi’ (LPB Sulsel 2023).

As Ismail Suardi Wekke, LPB Sulsel 2023 Committee mentioned on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 London time, LPB Sulsel 2023 as one of programs to encourage the realization of scientific culture for the high school students in Indonesia. This program also collaborated with two universities in South Sulawesi, including the Abdul Haris College of Administrative Sciences (STIA).

LPB Sulsel 2023 is a scientific research competition for junior and senior high school or vocational school students throughout South Sulawesi. This program was opened on May 2, 2023 and will last until October 2023. Participants can register online through the official CYS Indonesia website. There are three research fields that participants can choose from, namely natural science, applied science, and social science.

Prof. Ismail Suardi Wekke, stated that his team will fully support LPB Sulsel 2023 as a contribution to the development of science and technology in the specific region. “We hope that it becomes a forum for students to show their creativity and innovation in science. We are also ready to provide facilities and guidance for participants who need it,” he said.

On the other hand, the Head of STKIP Muhammadiyah Barru, Dr. Andi Fiptar Alam, appreciated the collaboration between CYS Indonesia and his university in organizing LPB Sulsel 2023. “This is a good opportunity for us to share knowledge and experience with prospective young researchers. We hope that it can increase students’ interest and skills in science, and provide benefits for the advancement of science and technology in Indonesia,” he said.

LPB Sulsel 2023 will select ten finalists from each research field who will enter the final round to be held in October 2023. Also, the finalists will present their research results in front of juries consisting of experts from various disciplines. The winners will receive prizes as a token of appreciation. In addition, they will also have the opportunity to participate in mentoring programs from CYS Indonesia and partner universities.
