Although being only four years old, STKIP Muhammadiyah OKU Timur, South Sumatra, has successfully implemented campus internationalization by sending three students to Taiwan to join the one-semester Student Exchange at the Asia University, starting from February 13, 2023.
They are Imam Mustofa and Salmiyah, the 6th semester Mathematics Education students, and Rikhatul Jannah, the 3rd semester Performing Arts Education student. Didi Franshardi, Chairperson of STKIP, stated that he was very grateful for this outstanding achievement, because even though STKIP was newly established and located in the local community, STKIP was expected to be able to adapt immediately, not only in the national level, but also in the international level.
“Alhamdulillah, with the support and assistance of the Chairman of the MHEI International Affairs Offices Association (ASKUI PTMA), Yordan Gunawan, we have self-confidence and can prepare well for this program, starting from cooperation with Taiwan campus to the selection of prospective participants and the departure,” Didi said.
In addition, Didi also revealed that currently, STKIP Muhammadiyah OKU Timur would also explore cooperation with several campuses in other countries, including India, Thailand and many others. On the other hand, the Regent of East OKU, Lanosin, in his remarks when releasing three STKIP students on Wednesday (8/3), advised the students to maintain the good name of the country, nation and campus and hoped that students could introduce Indonesian culture. “I really hope that the three selected students, in addition to carrying the name of East OKU, must also introduce the culture of East OKU during the following 6 months in Taiwan,” said Lanosin.
