Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA (UHAMKA) received a remarkable recognition as the Top 22 Islamic University in the 4ICU version. Beside continues supporting the students to bag medals and the lecturers to receive various grants, recently, Uhamka ranked 22nd Best Islamic University in the World, 3rd in the Muhammadiyah – ‘Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (MHEIs), and 33rd in the Indonesia Universities for 4 International College & Universities (4ICU) UniRank 2022 announced in August 2022.

4ICU UniRank is the official international higher education review and rankings of over recognized Universities and Colleges, based in Australia. Five hundred and eighty-two Indonesian universities have registered in 4ICU. In 2022, Uhamka experienced a significant increase because its previous ranked the 99th top Islamic University in Indonesia.

As reported, Prof Gunawan Suryoputro, Rector of Uhamka, expressed his gratitude for Uhamka’s achievement as the 22nd Top University in the world, 3rd in MHEIs, and 33rd in the Indonesia Universities from 582 universities registered in 2022 for 4ICU version. 

“Alhamdulillah, we said alhamdulillah for this significant increase of achievement. In 4ICU, we ranked the 22nd Top University in the world, 3rd in MHEIs, and 33rd in the Indonesia Universities from 582 universities registered in 2022. Besides 4ICU, we (Uhamka) also achieved a prideful accomplishment in Webometrics. It can be achieved with the collaboration from all Uhamka civitas academics to keep developing to reach the vision and mission as the Prophetic Entrepreneurial University 2045,” Gunawan said.

He continued, “Recently, we also received excellent accreditation status from the Executive Board of National Accreditation Body for Higher Education (BAN-PT) and Webometrics ranking in first place for positive impact MHEIs and 13th place in Indonesia university. It encourages us to compete in International as an Islamic university”.

To compete internationally, the Rector of Uhamka highlighted human resources capability as an essential element. So the lecturers with a Master’s degree were requested to pursue their Doctoral degree from the Uhamka scholarship scheme when they did not accept a scholarship from the government and other institutions.
