UMSU and UniMAP Malaysia Collaborated in Research

Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) signed Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Universitas Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP Malaysia) and Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya, Monday (05/07). The signing ceremony was conducted by the Vice-Rector of UMSU, Dr Akrim. From Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya, Prof Dr Mulyanto Nugroho and UniMAP Malaysia, Deputy-Vice Chancellor, Prof Ir Ts Dr Mohd Rizal Arshar and Chairman of FAB Enterprises, Dr Capt Fausta Barata represented for the ceremony.

The collaborative works in research and community service encouraged the collaboration to online cross-border learning. “Undoubtedly, the collaboration is not for the pandemic situation only, but it becomes a global requirement,” Dr Rudianto, the Vice-Rector III said. He continued that the global world was entering the industrial era 4.0 marked by digitalization and reality. The pandemic supported this rapid development due to the restriction of social activity. Therefore, education should conduct online learning. “When the campus looks so quite because the lecturers and students was busy to conduct virtual learning process,” he said.

The Rector of Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya, Prof Dr Mulyanto Nugroho, and the Vice-Chancellor UNiMAP, Prof Ir Ts Dr Mohd Rizal Arshar, also expected that the collaboration would strengthen the research and community service program. Besides, to encourage cultural exchange between two nations, especially the Melayu tribe.
