Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton (UM Buton) distributed groceries to residents around the campus on Monday (17/04). UM Buton held this distribution to support people around the campus who were less fortunate in meeting their basic needs during Ramadan.

The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton, Dr. Wa Ode Al Zarliani SP MM along with faculty leaders and university staff attended this program. There were dozens of groceries packages that were ready to be distributed to the community. In her remarks, the Rector of UM Buton mentioned that this activity was a form of concern and social responsibility of the university for the surrounding community.

She also invited the community to continuously maintain the spirit of togetherness and solidarity in Ramadan. This activity received a positive response from residents around the campus. One of the residents thanked Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton for the assistance they had received. He stated that this assistance was very helpful in meeting basic needs during Ramadan. “I appreciate Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton for the groceries assistance,” said one of the residents.

Later, Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton hoped that this activity could provide benefits for broader people in need. In addition, the activities organized by Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton can be an inspiration for other educational institutions to support communities in many other social activities.
