Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) as the host of Muhammadiyah Scholarship Preparation Program (MSPP) Batch V, a program from the Muhammadiyah Council for Higher Education Research and Development (CHERD), once again conducted Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) on Saturday (18/02). It was held at the Adhiwangsa Hotel Ballroom Surakarta. Previously, the latest Monev was carried out last January.
The Monev aimed to monitor the improvement of MSPP participants, as well as to open up a discussion between participants and CHERD, Language and General Science Center (LBIPU) UMS and Pesma UMS. The steering committee of MSPP, CHERD, Nurhadi, Ph.D., reemphasized the purpose of MSPP program was to support and assist MSPP participants in improving IELTS scores.
“I hope, after completing the MSPP program, each participant would apply or register for a scholarship to the dream campus and wait for the results,” he added. On the same occasion, Deputy Treasurer of CHERD, Andy Dwi Bayu Bawono, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., hoped to MSPP participants. “Hopefully, what you are dreaming about turns into reality. You also immediately get the dream campus. You can finish your study on time, return home safely, and participate in Muhammadiyah and ‘Aisyiyah service,” said Andy, who is also the Head of the UMS International Affairs and Cooperation Bureau.
The Chairperson of LBIPU UMS, Dr. M. Thoyibi, M.S., also prompted MSPP Batch V participants to optimize the daily activities, both academic activities on campus and Islam Muhammadiyah Studies (AIK) in Pesma. Also attending the Monev, among others the UMS Language and General Science Center (LBIPU), and the KH Mas Mansur International Student Boarding School (Pesma).
In this Monev, MSPP participants were divided into 5 discussion groups with each accompanied by CHERD and LBIPU personnel. Furthermore, each group then delivered the results of the discussion in the form of suggestions related to the learning process, preparation for applying the scholarships, and supporting logistics in learning, which were then responded to by CHERD, LBIPU UMS, and PESMA UMS.
