Three students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ) become Istanbul Youth Summit (IYS) 2022 participants that departed on Tuesday (08/02). The 5th IYS 2022 is an International Conference conducted by Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) in Istanbul, Turkiye. The International Conference aimed to encourage future leaders. For current issues, IYS 2022 raised the theme “The Response of Youth Development Planning in Crisis Recovery”.
Julita Nurhaliza, Maulida Nurul Izzah, and Nurwulandari follow the summit that will be conducted from Monday (14/02) to Thursday (17/02). Previously, they met UMJ leaders, including Dr Mutmainah, MM, the Vice-Rector II; Dr. Septa Chandra, SH, MH, the Vice-Rector IV; and Endang Zakaria, MH, the Head of International Affairs Office (KUI) UMJ. The meeting was located in the Vice-Rector IV room. “It is what they should encourage to their friends in other creativities. It is a starting point to go international,” said Muthmainnah to all delegates.
For Endang, the Head of KUI UMJ, their departure is a prideful achievement. “It is incredible that our students can depart to Europe. It is a prideful accomplishment,” he said. Currently, he is considered to list prospective students for foreign exchange, and he hopes that they involve in prominent students. He has also prompted the students to maintain the good name of the campus, Muhammadiyah, and Indonesia. “You all are Indonesian ambassadors, Muhammadiyah and UMJ delegations,” he added.
In line with Endang Zakaria, the Vice-Rector IV also expressed his pride towards his students. “We are proud of you all for following the program. On behalf of the institution, we congratulate you for following the program nicely, behaving in good ethics, and building international relations after the exchange program,” said Dr. Septa Chandra, MH in closing the meeting.
