Universitas Muhammadiyah Gombong (Unimugo) carried out Eid Gathering on Tuesday (2/5) in the Unimugo Auditorium. Also attending in the activity were, among others Vice Rectors I-IV, Deans of the Faculty of Science and Humanities and Faculty of Health Sciences, all Heads of Study Programs, employees, and students of Unimugo. Interestingly, on this occasion each employee was required to bring traditional food from their respective regions as Puji Handoko SAg MPd, Chief Executive, said.
Although most of them were from Kebumen Regency, many food variants were seen. “Starting from getuk (sweet steamed loaf of pounded cassava), tiwul (cassava cake with brown sugar and shredded coconut), oyek (another cassava cake), sticky rice, sticky fermented rice, lupis (sweet rice cake), and many others. However, the foods are not the main goal. The main goal here is the moment of togetherness,” said Puji Handoko. The main purpose was also conveyed by Sarwomo SKM MKes, the Vice Rector III for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Islamic and Muhammadiyah Studies representing the Rector. “We have to forgive each other, although actually we should not wait for Syawal to forgive each other,” he said.
Sarwono also mentioned on behalf of the University leadership board and management of UNIMUGO, “Of course we made many mistakes and had a lot of imperfections which both intentionally and unintentionally, we sincerely apologize,” he said.
Indah Safitri SKom as a representative of UNIMUGO employees in the Eid Gathering expressed her apologies. “We represent all lecturers and employees, in terms of receiving orders from the University leaders and providing nonoptimal services to students, we apologize profusely,” he said.
The event continued with warm handshakes and greetings between employees, students and Daily Advisory Board (BPH). It represented the expression of mutual forgiveness and to strengthen bonding between UNIMUGO employees and students. The Eid Gathering ended by having meals together with regional specialties by all employees and students.
