UNMUHA Continued To Conduct Community Service Program

Universitas Muhammadiyah Aceh (UNMUHA) conducted a handover procession for students who follow the Integrated Field Study (PBL) in Academic Year 2021/2022 on Monday (31/01). The procession was located in the Ulee Kareng District office. The Chief Committee, Tahara Dilla Santi, MBiomed reported that the program continued the previous program, PBL I, that have been conducted by Public Health Faculty students on 24-29 January 2022. On the last day, the students should present a report of field study in Community Health Center (Puskesmas) and also explain organizational culture analysis in Puskesmas.

The PBL II and III are scheduled from 31 January to 12 February 2022, located in three villages, including Ceurih, Ilie, and Pango Deah with its ten sub-villages. “The agenda will be conducted for two weeks by involving 133 students,” said Tahara, as reported on UNMUHA.

The Dean of Public Health Faculty, Prof Asnawi Abdullah, SKM, MHSM, MSc.HPPF, DLSHTM, PhD, handed the students over to the Head of Health Service Office. Afterwards, the Head of Health Office submitted them to the Head of Ulee Kareng District. “The students should have several urgent competencies, including situation study and analysis, development and planning of health service program, and communication. The students also conducted community empowerment, knowledge, and leadership mastery,” Prof Asnawi hoped.

In his remarks, the Head of Health Service Office Banda Aceh, Lukman SKM MKes explained the students should have antigen swab results before undergoing the field study. It is necessary due to the Covid-19 cases rise. He also prompted the students to tighten the health protocol, obey 5M: wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining social distance, limiting mobility, and staying away from the crowd.
