Universitas Muhammadiyah Banten (UM Banten) conducted the journalistic training located in Darul Tijaroh Sodong Tigaraksa, Saturday-Sunday (29-30/01). The training aimed to produce journalists that particularly would become a Journalistic Team of UM Banten.
The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Banten, Dr Partono Siswosuharjo explained that the training is a recommended non-formal program due to the addition of the Diploma Supplement Certificate. Later, besides acquiring knowledge in the classroom, the students also broaden their non-formal education materials. “Especially, in the recent days, they are in a millennial era that requires various materials to have competitiveness, that in Islam are known as fastabiqul khairat (to compete with one another in doing good),” he said.
The journalistic training was also expected to ease the students in their scientific writing or article and thesis arrangement. “In the future, it is possible to conduct a specific activity and own a radio program,” he added. Because UM Banten was lately established in July 2020, this training activity can be a step forward for Universitas Muhammadiyah Banten to go globally. Diktilitbang
