Five hundred and eighteen students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya (UMPR) were officially deployed for the 45th Community Service Program (KKN), Saturday (22/05). The online agenda was opened directly by the Rector of UMPR, Dr Sonedi, MPd. While the Vice-Rector I, Dr Hj Laksminarti, SH MH, the Vice-Rector III, Dr Norcahyono, SPdI, MHI, and the personnel of Institute for Research and Community Services (LP2M) also attended this meeting.
The Committee Chief of the 45th KKN, Endang Sri Suyati, MPd, mentioned that UMPR deployed the KKN participants in 5 different regions/cities in Central Kalimantan. “The 45th Community Service Program is officially launched by the Rector of UMPR and after the opening ceremony, every Field Supervisors will discharge their students in each location on 26-27 June 2021,” she said.
These 518 students were divided into 45 groups, including Lamandau Regency in Ethnography Scheme (3 groups), Seruyan Regency in Ethnography Scheme (3 groups), Seruyan Regency in Special Scheme (2 groups), and Pulau Pisau Regency in Muhammadiyah Service Scheme (3 groups), Katigaan Regency in Muhammadiyah Service Scheme (3 groups), and Palangka Raya Regency in Muhammadiyah Service Scheme (31 groups).
Meanwhile, the Rector of UMPR, Dr Sonedi, MPd, in his remarks, motivated the students to maintain the excellent name of the alma mater, keep the encouragement to demonstrate creativity amid pandemic, and contribute to the Tambun Bungai (one hero from Dayak Kalimantan) land in Central Kalimantan.
“For the previous semester studies on campus, it is the right time to implement what the students learned on campus. The campus life might not be so complex as in everyday life, so adaptation in the new environment and new situation should be carried out. Let us learn from real life because the true education is placed in the society,” said Dr Sonedi.
