Celebrating the 22nd Regional Congress (Musywil) of Muhammadiyah Provincial Board of DKI Jakarta, the Communication and Business Faculty in Universitas Saintek Muhammadiyah (Fakombis Saintekmu) in collaboration with the Council for Library and Information Resource of the Muhammadiyah Provincial Board (PWM) DKI Jakarta held a Media and Business Discussion by raising the theme “To Win Information and Economic Competition in the Era of Society 5.0”.
The discussion, which invited Ismail Fahmi, the Founder of Drone Emprit and Ghufron Mustaqim, Co-Founder & CEO of Evermos, was opened by the Vice Chairman of PWM DKI Jakarta, Edy Sukardi, who is also the Chairman of the Daily Supervisory Board (BPH) of Saintekmu. Faiz Rafdhi, the Rector of Saintekmu who sparked the discussion, highlighted the development of the information industry and the low literacy of the community in responding to circulated information. “With the rapid development of the information technology industry, sometimes we find it difficult to choose which news is true, which is not true, because everything is mixed up. So what is needed is not only the technology that is getting smarter, but also the intelligence of the people,” said Faiz.
In line with Faiz, Ismail Fahmi, who is also a member of the Council for Library and Information of Muhammadiyah Central Board, described the development of the artificial intelligence era and how Muhammadiyah’s strategy to win the media competition. “We, in Muhammadiyah, have more than enough capital, only lacking two things, the mobilization and orchestration. It must be echoed and worked collectively by Muhammadiyah, especially the Council for Library and Information, from the Central to Branch levels, in collaboration with tens of thousands of services throughout Indonesia.”
Ghufron Mustaqim, the CEO of Evermos who is also Deputy Chairman of the Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (LPUMKM) Muhammadiyah Central Board asked Muslims in general, and students in particular to start from the mindset. To build a mindset to continuously provide the largest possible benefits to society and ummah. Therefore, the business is not just looking for profit, but also provides broad benefits. The discussion was hosted by M Raihan Febriansyah, the Dean of Faculty of Science and Technology who is also Secretary of the Council for Library and Information Resource of PWM DKI Jakarta.
