Prof Dr Ir Herry Suhardiyanto, MSc, IPU, officially serves as the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Bandung (UM Bandung) in 2021-2025 after being inaugurated by Muhammadiyah Central Board in the local campus, Wednesday (16/06).
The agenda was conducted hybrid and attended by the President of Muhammadiyah Central Board, Prof Dr H Haedar Nashir (virtually); the Secretary of Muhammadiyah Central Board, Prof Dr H Abdul Mu’thi, MEd; the Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Prof Dr H Muhadjir Effendy, MAP; the Chairman of Muhammadiyah Council for Higher Education, Research, and Development (CHERD), Prof Lincolin Arsyad; the Chairman of Muhammadiyah Province Board of West Java, H Suhada; the Chairman of Indonesia Rector Forum (FRI), Prof Dr Arif Satria, SP, MSi, and all invited guests.
Prof Dr H Abdul Mu’thi, MEd, the Secretary of Muhammadiyah Central Board, mentioned that the previous rector of UM Bandung had established Muhammadiyah West Java’s prideful campus with hard work. “I believe Prof Herry, the current rector, is a professional and has succeeded to lead IPB University so he can understand the challenges and problems that UM Bandung will face. InsyaAllah, he can continue and elevate the efforts which Mr Suyatno has initiated in his five years of leadership,” Prof Mu’thi added.
As reported on suaramuhammadiyah.id, Prof Dr Ir Herry Suhardiyanto, MSc, IPU, explained that he would finish the work the previous rector had established in his leadership. With Muhammadiyah spirit, he would comprehend the vital thing to develop and prolong in the future. “Moreover, I also persuade all civitas academia, all educators of UM Bandung, together, will complete the mandate in establishing UM Bandung to be a prideful Universitas Muhammadiyah and Islamic Technopreneur University,” Prof Herry said.
