UMY Develops Digital Library For The Mosque On Merapi Slopes

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) continuously conducted community service programs in the integration of da’wah (inviting people to embrace Islam). Through the Community Service Institute (LPM), UMY released a digital library named Digital Library of Jabal Rahmah Mosque located in Permanent Resident of Merapi in Batur, Kepuharjo, Cangkringan, Sleman in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

The Launching of the Digital Library was conducted blended on Sunday (24/04) by the Rector of UMY, Prof. Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P IPM , in front of Jabal Rahmah mosque members. “The collaboration between UMY and Permanent Resident communities that relocated since 2010 after the eruption. For the collaboration conducted for 12 years, we hope we can provide facilitations for the wider communities,” said Gunawan. He also added that the Digital Library could be developed to ease the community to access various collection books of UM Yogyakarta Library.

“In the future, the collaboration between UMY and the communities of Merapi Slopes, especially in Batur, can be continued. For instance, the Student Study Service (KKN) that regularly organizes,” he continued. The launching of the Digital Library also continued with the explanations from UM Yogyakarta Library of ways to use and access the digital library to the communities as Jabal Rahmah members.
