The Regional Government of Belitung Regency provides full scholarship to study in the Medical faculty of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP). The initiation was mentioned by the Belitung Regent, H Sahani Saleh SSos in 70th Commencement of Master, Bachelor, and Vocational degree in Ukhuwah Islamiyah Auditorium on Saturday (25/02).

On this occasion, the Bangka, Belitung, and Pangandaran Government and UMP had agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The Belitung Regent, H Sahani Saleh SSos appreciated and gave the highest honor to all academic civitas for inviting and engaging him in the graduation ceremony and MoU agreement.

“The cooperation in MoU with Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto is in Education sector. We, in Belitung Regency, initiated the cooperation for medical, health, and education studies. We, from the regional government, will send our students to UMP to be funded to study,” he said.

On the other hand, the Rector of UMP, Assoc Prof Dr Jebul Suroso explained that this graduation ceremony was attended by various regional governments, including Bangka, Belitung, and Pangandaran. The three governments had dealt with Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto to provide scholarship for their high-achieving students to study in Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto.

“We (UMP) have the intention to open an affirmation class, both to get their local students to study in UMP with full scholarship and open a Study Program Outside the Main Campus (PSDKU). Later, UMP will be in pangandaran, will be in Bangka and Belitung,” he said.
