Universitas Muhammadiyah Banjarmasin (UM Banjarmasin) became the first Higher Education Institution in South Kalimantan to use the accreditation instrument of Higher Education 3.0 version. Moreover, UM Banjarmasin achieved “Commendable” (Baik Sekali) accreditation status in the accreditation assessment. The Head of the Institute for Quality Assurance, Apt Hendera highlighted the “Commendable” accreditation status as a collective achievement in all academic civitas, all related staff involved. Not only the team who is currently in charge but also all staff and the previous leader elements involved in this achievement. “Therefore, the contributions of all academic civitas should be appreciated,” said Apt Hendera.
He continued that a long accreditation submission process of UM Banjarmasin used the Higher Education Institutions Accreditation (AIPT) Instruments 3.0 version. It included the accreditation forms arrangement, self-evaluation report, higher education performance report, and many other forms.
The self-evaluation report arrangement was over 500 pages also became a particular experience for UM Banjarmasin. Especially, it was the first accreditation for the institution. The form arrangement also has been conducted in early 2018 with various experiences and the transformation regulations of accreditation instruments. In August 2020, this instrument was uploaded, while the field assessment or the visitation from The National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) has been conducted in February 2021. Consequently, BAN-PT should release the letter of extension temporarily in September 2020 until the new regulation is issued. However, all processes have been paid after Tuesday (23/02) on the Online Higher Education Accreditation System (SAPTO) page. UM Banjarmasin has been stated as “Commendable” with the high-rank achievement.
“About the accreditation status, it was a result of BAN-PT assessment, comprised of Excellent, Commendable, Accredited in the accreditation regulations of Study Program Accreditation Instrument (IAPS) 4.0 and Higher Education Institutions Accreditation (AIPT) 3.0,” he said. It was expected that the accreditation status achieved as measured quality assurance in all fields in UM Banjarmasin. “The accreditation score should be approved by the institutions in providing services to the students and stakeholders. The institution should demonstrate the standardized and qualified implementation of Tri Dharma ‘Three Values’ of Higher Education Institution,” he said.
