Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) was trusted by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture to host the National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest (KKCTBN) again. Meanwhile, the final stage will be held on 20-23 October 2021, located at Rayz Hotel and Sengkaling Recreation Park UMM.
Prof. Ir. Nizam, M.Sc., DIC, Ph.D., IPU, Asean Eng, the Director-General of Higher Education, opened the event with gratitude because it had been going well and held in applying the heath protocols. He added, as a maritime country with more than 17.000 islands, Indonesia should master technology in shipping. It could be a basic course for students. “This current theme for the National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest also reminds me of the maritime glory that we have had in the past. With the spirit of togetherness, I think the students will be the backbone of the development and progress of the maritime sector in the future,” he said.
He also advised students not to make ambition to be a winner as the primary goal in the competition. Instead, the most important thing was how the students could actualize their best potential, likewise with the fair spirit shown in competition.
On the same occasion, Dr. Fauzan, Rector of UMM, presented the importance of cadre availability in naval understanding. Therefore, the students who joined the competition should be prideful because they became the chosen ones. He explained that not many students have achievements as the finalist. “Make the competition as habitual in your life. In fact, life is full of competition. Perhaps, tonight would be the fast boat contest, but afterwards you will face a competition should be win which is life,” he concluded. [] Diktilitbang
