Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi (UMMI) held the closing ceremony of the exchange student program from SRM University AP, India who had successfully completed and carried out the program, Friday (27/01).
Mr. Sandeep Samala (Senior Staff of International and Engagement) appreciated UMMI for welcoming the SRM University AP students, India. “Thank you so much for the hospitality, thank you so much for welcoming and being very warm,” he added. He also said that it was an outstanding experience.
Even though they had to adapt to the new environment, Sandeep and his nine students had no difficulty living in Sukabumi, and even felt at home. “Being in a foreign land and far away from home is not easy, but UMMI made our trip here very very good, we feel like home,” he said.
In his remarks Mr. Sandeep also invited UMMI to visit India by sending UMMI students in a student exchange program. During their activities, all SRM University students followed their activities with joy and enthusiasm. In particular, they are pleased with Indonesian culture, especially in Sukabumi. In fact, all students have their own favorite places such as the Sukabumi Temple, the Great Sukabumi Mosque, the Al-Umm UMMI Mosque, and many other places.
Dr. Sakti Alamsyah, M.Pd, the Chancellor of UMMI mentioned that the exchange students from India was his institution’s honor. “I congratulate all students who participate in this program. I hope all of you will be successful and can graduate on time.” said Shakti.
He also expressed his apologies whether during the program there were imperfections. With this collaboration, the UMMI Chancellor will continue to collaborate with various countries in the future and facilitate the similar program when SRM University AP makes a return visit to UMMI. “I hope it is not the first and last visit but it will be the first visit and will be another visit in the following years,” Sakti hoped. On the other hand, the exchange students said they really wanted to stay in Sukabumi because they were very comfortable with the atmosphere and activities.
