Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) won in the national competition of Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo conducted blended on 17-18 November 2021.
Previously, the UMS International student Khalid Wamala won 3rd place in 2021 Essay ISS-UM iFest conducted by Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) collaborated with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemenristekdikti). One of four teams funded by Business Activity of Indonesian Students (KBMI) achieved 3rd place at the national level for the food and drink category. The team consisted of Ahmad Apriyanto, Hawangga Dhiyaul Fadly, Jacob Jordan Noerrochman, and Khoirunnisa Dyas Fajriati initiated to present Batik Brownies under Dias Azis Pramudita as supervisor, and Umi Fadhilah as the entrepreneurship supervisor.
Jacob Jordan Noerrochman as a Batik Brownies team member, explained their concept benefit. “We expect that this brownies business which in batik motive has more recognition and beneficial for broader parties in preserving Indonesia culture, especially batik,” Jacob said, Monday (22/11). This activity supported the Independent Learning and Independent Campus program. It encouraged students to be graduates with a strong character, full of innovation, and ready to compete at national, regional, global levels. Besides Batik Brownies, UMS students presented DASDES MEDIA (care and design service), Increativv (content writer and instastory designer of the Instagram business account), and Adu Wedhang (culinary product of frozen Food). The entrepreneurship supervisor, Umi Fadlilah, ST, MEng, wished that the Batik Brownies were better in taste, wider in distribution, more varied, and blessed the benefits. [] UMS / Diktilitbang
