UMSB Received Grant of Jorong Rumbai Community-Owned Land

Jorong Rumbai people, Kanagarian Muaro Tais, submitted the grant of 3-hectare land for Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat (UMSB) located to Jorong Rumbai Mosque on Friday (19/02). The symbolic submission was conducted by the representative of Niniak Mamak (a customary institution in Minangkabau) Jorong Rumbai to Prof Dr Rusydi AM, Lc, MA as the Daily Advisory Board (BPH) of UMSB.

In his remarks, the Jorong Rumbai community leader mentioned the grant to trust UMSB. It aimed to develop the human resource development center, especially for Jorong Rumbai generation, and Kanagarian Muaro Tais and Mapat Tunggul Pasaman in general.

Moreover, the Head of Mapat Tunggul district appreciated the community leaders’ initiative and Niniak Mamak of Jorong Rumbai for the good deeds and high hope to UMSB in developing campus and land granted. “Mapat Tunggul district is a border territory directly adjacent to Riau province and North Sumatera, so the district becomes strategic to developing higher education area. We ensure that UMSB establishment here will affect positively for the local development and economic advancement of the community,” he said.

In his remarks, Dr Riki Saputra, MA, highly appreciated all Jorong Rumbai and Muaro Tais community, especially Pasamanan people, for their good deeds in disseminating positive acts and preventing the negative (amar ma’ruf nahi munkar). “UMSB also becomes one Muhammadiyah service that insyaAllah will be optimized with the grant to improve campus services,” he said.

On this occasion, the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat accompanied by the Vice-Rector III of Collaboration affairs, the Secretary of Daily Advisory Board UMSB, Special Taskforce team of UMSB, the Head of Mapat Tunggul district, community leaders, Bundo Kanduang, and all Muhammadiyah Regional, Branch, and Local Boards.
