Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang (UMT) held vaccination for the students located in the main campus, Cikokol, Tangerang, Friday (13/08).
In vaccination implementation, UMT collaborated with Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and Indonesian National Police (Polri) was also attended by Presidential Special Staff. The Rector of UMT, Ahmad Amarullah, explained that they supported vaccination in the educational environment to cut the risk of Covid-19 transmission. The Rector mentioned the readiness of UMT to conduct Covid-19 vaccination. “Alhamdulillah, the community obey the rules, no crowded places because we had set everything with all available equipment. So, we could support the government effort in stopping the Covid-19 transmission,” he said.
At the same time, as the plan of face-to-face learning, UMT currently prepares the hybrid method, both online and offline. “The face-to-face learning InsyaAllah will be conducted in a blended system. There are online and offline methods. We will arrange everything,” he said.
UMT is involved in vaccination sites from 14 locations in Tangerang City. The vaccination would be used Astrazeneca vaccines targeted for 1000 people to immunize.
Metro Resort Police of Tangerang, Police Grand Commissioner (Kombes) Deonijiu De Fatima, added that TNI and Polri were ordered to intensify the vaccination according to Presidential Order. “So the Chief of Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) create Vaksin Merdeka movement as the 76th Independence Day commemoration,”
He added, currently Polri held this Vaksin Merdeka starting from 1-17 August. “One implementation of this was a collaboration of all parties in Tangerang City, including religious figures, students, and college students. So, the Rector of UMT made a good decision for conducting this vaccination in UMT,” he said.
In his remarks, the Presidential Special Staff, Aminuddin Ma’ruf, expressed his gratitude to UMT for being the organizer of the vaccination program. Aminuddin also appreciated TNI and Polri, who worked hard on carrying out the vaccination tirelessly.
“Currently, TNI and Polri have no day off, whether it is weekend or national day. We conducted the vaccination every day. I expect that this hard work will result in stopping the Covid-19 transmission,” Aminuddin said.
