A prideful achievement was again obtained by Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). This ‘Global Youth’ Campus succeeded in receiving an award from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights in the Higher Education category with the TOP 10 highest Intellectual Property Rights applications in Indonesia this year. The announcement and award was handed over directly by the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasonna H. Laoly received by Ir Agus Jamal MEng IPM as Head of the Research and Innovation Institute (LRI) at the Bidakara Hotel Jakarta, Monday (21/11) in the Roving Seminar of Intellectual Property Rights.
To appreciate this achievement, Prof. Dr Dyah Mutiarin, the Head of the UMY Research and Innovation Institute (LRI) said that this award was extremely important in UMY’s progress and intellectual property. “Of course, this achievement can increase campus creativity in enhancing intellectual property that will produce a positive impact on the progress of the nation,” she hoped.
Dyah added that these achievements were also in line with the vision and mission of UMY in realizing a Research Excellence University. Therefore, the indicators are required, including the amount of research, and the number of research publications with international and national reputations, as well as innovation, which innovation is closely related to intellectual property. She also hoped that the achievement can intensify UMY’s efforts in providing scientific contributions as well as technological innovation. “This is one of many encouragements for UMY’s contribution to providing technology innovation and other scientific innovations to society,” she concluded.
