Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah Sorong (Unimuda Sorong) became the location to conduct Safari Ramadhan (Ramadan Roadshow) on last Saturday (24/04). A group of Ramadan 1442 H/2021 M Roadshow organizers visited Unimuda Sorong Mosque, “Salman Al-Farisi” Campus Mosque. As an annual program of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), MUI West Papua and the local government were the organizers of the agenda.
The roadshow themed “Ramadan Month, Month of Love, Brotherhood, and Caring for Others”. KH Misbahul Munir Kholil known as Kyai Misbah from MUI Central Board attended the agenda. West Papua Governor represented by the expert staff presented in the Unimuda Sorong, which became the Ramadan Roadshow location. Dr Rustamadji, MSi, the Rector of Unimuda Sorong, delivered his remarks and expressed his gratitude for the visitation in the Ramadhan Roadshow MUI West Papua Board. Afterwards, he highlighted the requirement to be an organization with high qualifications and excellent aspects. “To be excellent should be solid, disseminate the good deeds, and prevent the bad,” he said, as reported on the Unimuda Sorong site.
Moreover, Kyai Misbah expressed his pride in Unimuda Sorong’s existence. The campus can serve five thousand students, with the 70% majority of students from Papua and non-Muslim. Afterwards, Kyai Misbah also explained that the campus should be a role model in Papua and West Papua. “It was an effort of the good deeds for Allah Swt,” said Kyai Misbah.
