Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) contingent for Pencak Silat, a martial art originated from Indonesia recorded their achievements at National Student Sports Week (POMNAS) that was held in West Sumatra. The coordinator of Provincial Student Sports Week (Pomprov) UMS, Nur Subekti, S.Pd., M.Or. mentioned that on Thursday (08/09), five UMS athletes passed the National Student Sports Week (POMNAS), Ahmad Muzaki and Arif Mubarok in art men’s double, Ginting Baharudin Putra competed in Men’s Class D, Amar Abdullah Dani competed in Men’s Class E, and Muhammad Ikmal Akbar competed in Men’s Class G.
In addition, Nur Subekti, familiarly known as Bekti, explained that UMS won silver medals in the Men’s Class A by Muhammad Iqbal Saputra and Men’s Class C by Muhammad Ikmal Akbar, and bronze medals in Men’s Class C by Rehan Budianto and Art Women’s Single by Luthfia Nur Putri Azizah. “UMS achieved four gold medals, two silver medals, and two bronze medals in 2022 Pomprov for Pencak Silat branch,” said Bekti.
The 2022 POMNAS XVII of West Sumatera will be held on 11-19 November 2022.
