The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat (UMSB), Dr. Riki Saputra, MA inaugurated the Vice Rectors I, II and III. The inauguration was located at the Prof. Dr. Ahmad Syafii Maarif, MA Convention Hall, UM Sumatera Barat campus in Padang, Monday (22/05).
In his remarks, Dr. Riki Saputra, MA congratulated the three elected Vice Chancellors who in the next 4 years will carry out the progress of UM Sumatera Barat.
Furthermore, he also thanked the former Vice Rectors who had developed UMSB with both ups and downs, to improve UM Sumatera Barat until it is familiarly known in the communities as it is now. “I hope the 4 years will be a field of worship for has devoted almost all his time to this campus,” said Riki Saputra.
Riki Saputra said, today we have signed a contract and pact of integrity for the Vice Chancellor for the following 4 years. In addition, in the next 2 months, they will also sign performance contracts for Deans, Directors, and Heads of Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) at UM Sumatera Barat, while the derivative leadership will be organized by faculty leaders.
On the other hand, Bachtiar, the Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Provincial Board of West Sumatra, advised that leadership must be well maintained and carried out based on authority, especially UM Sumatera Barat currently chasing after the other great universities. Therefore, UM Sumatera Barat requires strong energy to develop itself and takes synergy between Muhammadiyah Board in producing a conducive situation.
“Remember this mandate is accountable to Allah, take it to the fullest potential,” Samsudin said. On this occasion, the virtual presence of the Council for Higher Education Research and Development (CHERD) Muhammadiyah Central Board, Muhammad Samsudin, S.Ag., M.Pd, also congratulated the elected Vice Chancellors, and thanked the former Vice Chancellors.
He added that UM Sumatera Barat is one of the oldest universities in Indonesia. With a long history, the dynamics are certainly valuable lessons to build this campus better for the following four years.
