Processed Vegetable Product from Unmuh Babel and UMP Collaborative Program

Collaborative Program of Student Study Service 2022 Team between Universitas Muhammadiyah Bangka Belitung (Unmuh Babel) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) conducted a community service program of food product innovation last Monday (07/02). This collaborative program involved seven students of Unmuh Babel and six students of UMP. Assisted by their Field Supervisor (DPL), Dwi Indra Aprilliandari MPd, they served in Batu Itam village. The village was located in Sijuk district, Belitung region. The program aimed to support local governments in education, religious content, and learning assistance. They targeted toddlers and women in Islamic sermons.

The program was entitled “Community Empowerment in Batu Itam by Developing Processed Vegetables to Support Sustained Economic Growth”. It was conducted in the Community Center of Batu Itam, Belitung. The team leader, Aminatul Ajmi, expected that the food product innovation could deal with children and adults who dislike eating vegetables. “Vegetable nuggets can be a long-awaited alternative for communities, especially vegetarians,” she said.

The Field Supervisor (DPL), Dwi Indra Aprilliandari, MPd, is also optimistic about the food product innovation to process vegetables in nugget form. She also expected their innovation to be a long-term benefit, especially in economic aspects. Afterwards, the Local Government representative, Eka, appreciated and thanked the Collaborative Study Service Program students and their field supervisor. “The training of nugget production can be an innovation model for communities, especially women in Batu Itam village. The nugget can be a healthy and delicious snack for children,” said Eka.
