In establishing the acceleration of Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (MHEIs)’s performances, Muhammadiyah Council for Higher Education, Research, and Development (CHERD) held ‘Upbuilding of Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions and the Inauguration of Muhammadiyah Council for Higher Education, Research, and Development Office’, Monday (22/11). The official ceremony was conducted live by the President of Muhammadiyah Central Board, Prof Haedar Nashir, witnessed by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Prof Muhadjir Effendy online; the Chairman of Muhammadiyah CHERD; several Rectors; and the invited guests.
In his report, Prof Lincolin mentioned that the building construction located in Brawijaya Street, Menayu Kidul, Tirtonirmolo, Kasihan, Bantul resulted from Taawun (Cooperations) and auction collected from 111 contributors of MHEIs and personal donors. In elevating the trust and performance professionality, the Office of Muhammadiyah CHERD has certified ISO 9001: 2015 by the number 824 100 19006 from TUV Rheinland Indonesia. “The ISO Certification is our attempt from Muhammadiyah CHERD to keep improving the quality and provide the optimal services for the MHEIs,” he said.
On the same occasion, Muhammadiyah CHERD also launched three Application Systems comprised of (1) The Report of MHEI leaders, (2) The Questionnaire and Evaluation of Islamic and Muhammadiyah Studies (AIK) Quality Standard, and (3) The Database of MHEIs’ Scholarships. “The System of Management Information developed to track the database of the foundation to create a good governance and elevate comprehensive service for 165 MHEIs,” Muhammad Sayuti, the Secretary of Muhammadiyah CHERD, said. He expected that the systems would increase the performance of The Council, MHEIs, and also the Foundation.
Prof Muhadjir Effendy explained that CHERD has a central role in handling several situations regarding education issues and MHEIs. This new office inauguration was more representative and expected to increase the MHEIs’ national and international affairs role. “I appreciate and express my gratitude to all the hard work conducted by Muhammadiyah Council for Higher Education, Research, and Development to improve Muhammadiyah’s roles, especially in Higher Education,” he concluded.
