UAD Pharmacy Doctoral Program was officially established after receiving the Decree of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology about the establishment permit of The doctoral program of Pharmacy. The handover was conducted in the UAD Main Campus, Wednesday (25/08).
The doctoral program (S-3) of Pharmacy was the first establishment of Muhammadiyah- ’Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA). It became the first Doctoral program in private universities in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
The handover was conducted by the Chief of Higher Education Service Institution (LLDikti) Regional V, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., Akt. towards the Daily Advisory Board (BPH) UAD Ir. Azman Latif and forwarded to the Rector of UAD, Dr. Muchlas, M.T. Rector of UAD then handed over to the Dean of Pharmacy, Prof. Dyah Aryani Perwitasari, M.Si., Ph.D., Apt.
Dr. Muchlas, in his speech, explained the issuance of the permit was a milestone of UAD. “It is a milestone for UAD, the doctoral program becoming the first in 60 years of UAD establishment. It makes UAD the university with a full-range academic program,” he added.
He hoped the establishment of the Pharmacy Doctoral Program could provide the outcome by creating many pharmacists who have made contributions to the nations and broader communities. “ I hope the Pharmacy civitas can provide the contribution to the nations and communities by the research and services, especially in the pandemic period,” he inferred.
Meanwhile, Didi Achjari explained that the UAD doctoral program (S-3) of Pharmacy was the 6th in Indonesia. He believed in the future, it could be a superior program because it would increase the number of professors. “The uniqueness of the knowledge development in the doctoral program of Pharmacy is a big deal. So that the future graduates will be equipped with the specific skills, including the knowledge development based on Industrial Revolution 4.0, the integration of Islamic value on the knowledge development by focussing on halal studies, this superiority will be the characteristic of UAD program studies,” he concluded.
