Institut Teknologi dan Bisnis Muhammadiyah ‘Muhammadiyah Technology and Business Institute’ (ITBM) Wakatobi held Campus Life Introduction to New Students (PKKMB) Tuesday (21/9). The agenda invited various speakers, including Wakatobi Regent, Haliana and Secretary of Muhammadiyah Diktilitbang Council, Muhammad Sayuti, MPd, MEd, Ph.D. Sixty students were attending PKKMB Orientation as the second generation of ITBM Wakatobi. Dharma Wanita building, Wangiwangi district became the PKKMB location.

The first-year students who attended consisted of 3 study programs, including Information Technology, Entrepreneurs, and Fisheries. The addition of the 60 students increased the number of students in ITBM Wakatobi to 160 students.

In his speech, Haliana explained that the ITBM existence, where there is a business study program, would benefit the community. “I ensure the students here also have an entrepreneur mindset and have the advantage for others in offering job opportunities,” he admitted on Sultranesia. Haliana also stated that ITBM might be the place to develop and enhance intellectual competence.

After that, Sayuti, in his speech, expressed his gratitude to Pemda Wakatobi for the address. He explained that it was the form of Muhammadiyah collaboration with the local government. Because Muhammadiyah plays a role in educating the nations’ lives and Wakatobi can develop with Muhammadiyah higher education institutions. “All of Muhammadiyah higher education institutions have networks which can be helpful for improvement,” he said in Zonasultra.com

Then, the remark from the PPKMB ends to put on the alma mater coat to fresh-year student representatives by the Rector of ITBM Wakatobi, Arusani. UM Buton leaders; Chief of Wakatobi police AKBP Suharman Sanusi; lecturers; education personnel; and senior students who also attended in the procession.
