Tapak Suci UAD Bagged International Achievement

The contingent of Tapak Suci (Muhammadiyah Martial Arts) Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) won the 11th Airlangga Championship of Tapak Suci International Virtual Open 2021 two gold medals and one silver medal. The registration process, technical meeting, and review process were conducted virtually via Zoom Meeting and Youtube account on 8-12 November 2021.

“Tapak Suci UAD sent 10 athletes divided to Male and Female Single – Empty Hand category, Male and Female Single – Armed category, Double – Armed category, and Group category. The participants followed the championship starting from an early age, teenager, and adolescence,” Santi Julia Kristi said, one of UAD athletes, as interviewed via Whatsapp on last Monday (15/11).

Afterwards, Sanji explained that the competition preparation was concise, only about a month. “We trained routinely, we trained almost every day. However, if we only depend on TC training alone, we should have additional training independently.”

The UAD athlete who achieved 1st place in the Female Single – Empty Hand category was Andini Mandala Putri. Also, Frida Nora Ayu Basri and Sanji Julia Kristi achieved 1st place in the Female Double – Armed. Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik (UM Gresik) held the Islamic Sermon in Muhammadiyah 109th Anniversary Commemoration themed “Muhammadiyah Compass Direction To Support The Glory of Indonesia” on Thursday (18/11). Prof Dr H Anwar Abbas MM MAg from Muhammadiyah Central Board, Muhammadiyah Regional Board (PDM) Gresik and ‘Aisyiyah Regional Board (PDA) Gresik, and all academic civitas of UM Gresik also attended the meeting.

The Chairman of Muhammadiyah Regional Board of Gresik, Dr Taufiqullah A Ahmady MPdI mentioned several points. It included the optimistic spirit which should embrace by the community to handle the Covid-19 pandemic and disseminate fundamental values. He also expected Muhammadiyah cadres to interpret and comprehend each value stated in the Muhammadiyah 109th Anniversary Commemoration theme.

The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik, Dr Eko Budi Leksono MT mentioned the compass direction of Muhammadiyah in supporting in the glory of Indonesia. UMSU- As a leader in education, our concern in establishing qualified generations becomes a priority. It becomes a requirement, and we, lecturers, should provide a pleasant learning system and environment. That was a statement from Prof Dr Abdul Rasyid bin Jamian, a lecturer in the Faculty of Language and Communication UPSI Malaysia in the International Seminar entitled ‘Education Management System To Create Qualified Persons’. The agenda was held in Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) which collaborated in Universitas Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) Malaysia online, Friday (19/11).

Prof Rasyid continued that besides being an educator, a teacher/lecturer has a significant role in an institution that becomes a context they should understand. As a teacher, educators should create a pleasant learning condition and system to achieve excellent education quality. “As an educator, I often sing or provide advice to make my students happy and our teacher-student relationship can be closer,” he said.

He also prompted students to keep searching for knowledge from various sources and expecting a teacher-centered study process. It would be better if the students sought new insight outside classes because outside learning creates a qualified generation, which influences the health, economics, and political condition of a nation. In the Covid-19 pandemic, Malaysia’s strategic education also experienced a transformation, as in the post-Covid19 pandemic. “In facing post-Covid19 pandemic, education requires curriculum transformation, creative teachers, and we can not use a traditional learning method again,” he concluded as the resource person in front of UMSU participants. ITS PKU Muh Surakarta Hosted The Annual Meeting and 2021 AIPNEMA National Seminar

ITS PKU Muh Surakarta collaborated with the Association for the Nursery Science in Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Institutions (AIPNEMA) to conduct the Annual Meeting (RTA) and 2021 AIPNEMA National Seminar. By the theme “The Implementation of Independent Learning and Independent Campus in Nursery Science of Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (MHEI)”, the agenda was conducted online and offline, Thursday-Saturday (11-13/11).

Dr Mundzakir, SKep, Ns, MKep as the Keynote Speaker and the Chairman of AIPNEMA, mentioned AIPNEMA as an organization that covered the educational institutions for nursery science have the courage to support the demands and carry out the Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM) program. “Therefore, in the Annual Meeting, AIPNEMA reviews and synergize in the implementation of MBKM program in the Nursery Sciece,” he said. The national seminar was expected to benefit the lecturers in MHEIs to modify the learning model according to the rapid development. Moreover, it can develop a curriculum that refers to SNPT (National Standard of Higher Education), KKNI (National Qualification Framework), MBKM programs, and the Muhammadiyah organization.

Sri Mintarsih, the chief committee and the Vice-Rector III of ITS PKU Muh Surakarta, explained that 700 participants followed the Annual Meeting and National Seminar. It comprises 200 online participants for the Annual Meeting and 500 hybrid participants for the National Seminar from the Nursery science study program educators all over Indonesia.

Weni Hastuti, PhD as the Rector of ITS PKU Muh Surakarta, also appreciated the trust given to ITS PKU Muh Surakarta as the host of this meeting. “The trust given for ITS PKU Muh Surakarta is a noble thing. As one of MHEIs, we keep developing and setting up to be an excellent institution. We are always improving to establish alongside with other developed MHEIs,” she said.

Muhammadiyah 109th-Anniversary Commemoration was attended by President Joko Widodo offline and lived broadcasted in the State Palace. Pandemic and national problems could be solved simultaneously if all parties united in one frame for Indonesia and in Bhineka Tunggal Ika ‘Unity in Diversity’ spirit. Indonesia would be failed to rise and progress if several parties were scattered and grievances. That was a statement of Prof Haedar Nashir, the President of Muhammadiyah Central Board, in the 109th-Anniversary Commemoration offline in UM Yogyakarta Sportorium, Thursday (18/11). By the theme “Optimistic In Tackle The Covid-19 Pandemic: To Disseminate Fundamental Values”, the commemoration was attended by President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, accompanied by the Ministries of Indonesia Maju Cabinet online and broadcast from the State Palace.

Prof Haedar Nashir mentioned the key to tackling pandemic and solving nations’ problems was determination and perseverance followed by sincerity, honesty, trustworthiness, and systematic steps in seeking the solution. The pandemics could be placed in several dimensions, including iman (faith), tauhid (oneness of God), and hablumminallah (relationship with God). The pandemic also becomes a universal problem that could provide lessons including the fundamental values, namely tauhid values in pro-humanity, ennobling humankind, kindship, and togetherness, fondness, earnest endeavor, knowledge, and development. “This is a momentum improving da’wah (Islamic propagation), tajdid (renewal), and ijtihad (attempts) to create enlightenment transformation and progress as an excellent Islamic movement in local, national, and global,” he said. Prof Haedar also prompted all Muhammadiyah cadres to keep sincere in undergoing its teachings, commit, serve, maintain unity, be productive, and be progressive. “We need to consider KH Ahmad Dahlan message for us; I confide Muhammadiyah to you with an expectation that you can keep and maintain Muhammadiyah wholeheartedly so that Muhammadiyah can develop in infinite time,” he said.

The remarks delivered by Prof Haedar also continued by the signing of inscriptions, including Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia (UMAM), Universitas Siber Muhammadiyah (SiberMu), Muhammadiyah Australia College (MAC), and the Dasron Hamid Research and Innovation Center (UMY) establishment. In the 109th-anniversary commemoration reception, Muhammadiyah has also endowed 2021 awards in three categories: Health and Humanity, Social Economic, and Education and Technology.

Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan Muhammadiyah Bojonegoro (STIKes Maboro) held virtual inauguration. The agenda was conducted on the Maboro campus B, Veteran Street Bojonegoro, on Wednesday (10/11). The procession was held online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Sixty graduates followed the inauguration, comprised of 33 graduates from Diploma-III Medical Records and Health Information and 27 other graduates from Bachelor of Hospital Administration.

At first, the Secretary of Muhammadiyah Council for Higher Education, Research, and Development (CHERD), Muhammad Sayuti, MPd MEd PhD delivered the speech on this inauguration. He mentioned that STIKes Maboro was regarded as new but has had several recognitions. The recognitions portrayed STIKes Muhammadiyah Bojonegoro fulfilling their duties and commitment as educators to create competent health workers. Afterwards, the Chairman of Daily Advisory Board (BPH) STIKes Maboro, Drs H Solikin Jamik SH MKes, explained that the inauguration was a life process. “Be courageous to carry out the responsibility and motivate yourself to give others contribution,” he said.

As an organization with its 109th-anniversary, Muhammadiyah actively contributes to maintaining and developing Indonesia. With the spirit for developing social life and communities’ education improvement, Muhammadiyah’s role is based on Islamic and humanitarian values.

Muhammadiyah Council for Higher Education, Research, and Development (CHERD) is one of thirteen councils formed by Muhammadiyah Central Board. Muhammadiyah CHERD continues to support Muhammadiyah service (AUM) improvement in education by managing Muhammadiyah – ‘Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (MHEIs) all over Indonesia.

Currently, Muhammadiyah CHERD has established 165 MHEIs comprised of 69 universities, 69 institutes, 3 academies, 18 specialized institutes, and 6 polytechnics. Six MHEIs have achieved excellent accreditation by BAN-PT, namely Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. HAMKA, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara.

Muhammadiyah CHERD encourages the implementation of Catur Dharma ‘Four Values’ Higher Education Institutions to focus on academics, research, community devotion, and Islamic and Muhammadiyah Studies (AIK). Strengthening Islamic and Muhammadiyah values becomes MHEIs’ foundation to create a generation with Islamic and Muhammadiyah characters based on Al-Qur’an and As-Sunnah.

UMPO Develops Social Inclusion-Based Library

For the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation, Library Service Agency (L2P) Universitas Muhammadiyah Ponorogo (UMPO) signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Regional Library and Archive Office of Ponorogo. The collaboration aimed to widen the access and utilization of knowledge information sources to support Tridharma ‘three values’ Higher Education Institutions and improve the human resource quality in each agency.

The Head of Regional Library and Archive Office (Perpusda), Dwi Wuri Handayani, SSos, explained that the library was not only a place to borrow books but also had an essential role in national development. It was followed by the national program that runs by Perpusda Ponorogo to transform the Social Inclusion-based Library, where the communities also participated in various agendas. “The pro-active library can support the communities to develop soft-skills, self-confident, and social network. At this time, the library should transform for strengthening the role and function to not only become a place to archive and borrow books but also become alife-long learning support for the communities,” she admitted, as reported on the official UMPO site, Monday (15/11).

The Rector of UMPO, Dr Happy Susanto, MA added that UMPO Library with A accreditation predicate brings a positive impact as the collaboration offered by other parties. “It is in line with Muhammadiyah’s motto, Fastabiqul Khairat (To compete in Goodness). However, to establish the motto, we require partners to collaborate with,” he said.

The Health Science Institute ‘Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Kesehatan’ (STIKes) Muhammadiyah Ciamis held the nurses’ pledge procession of Diploma-III Nursery Science on Wednesday (10/11). The agenda was conducted in KH Ahmad Dahlan Auditorium and held offline and online. The Head of STIKes Muhammadiyah Ciamis, H Dedi Supriadi SKep Ners MKes, and the Head of D-III Nursery Science Study Program and team attended this procession. Sixty-three students followed the pledge-taking procession offline with a strict health protocol. The mask-wearing and body temperature-checking became requirements to participate in this meeting.

Moreover, after the Qur’an reciting and National Anthem and ‘Sang Surya’ singing, the pledge-taking procession on the ‘Inauguration procession and Pledge-taking of Associate Expert of Nursery Profession’ began.
