UNMUHA Collaborates With Three MHEIs In Northern Sumatera

Universitas Muhammadiyah Aceh (Unmuha) collaborates with three Muhammadiyah Higher Education Institutions (MHEIs) namely Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat (UM Sumbar), Advance School of Health Science Muhammadiyah Aceh (STIKes Muhammadiyah Aceh), and Advance School of Health Science Muhammadiyah Lhokseumawe (STIKes Muhammadiyah Lhokseumawe).

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing was conducted in Unmuha campus, Tuesday (15/06) and attended by the Unmuha Rector, Dr Aslam Nur MA; the Rector of UM Sumbar Dr Riki Saputra, MA; the Head of Stikes Muh Aceh, Dra. Eulisa Fajriana, M. Kes, the Head of Stikes Muh Lhokseumawe Ns. Mursal, S. Kep, M. Kep, the Vices-Rector of Unmuha; the Head of International Affairs Office of Unmuha and UM Sumbar. Moreover, the agenda was broadcasted virtually through Zoom Meeting by the Vices-Rector of UM Sumbar, the Deans of UM Sumbar, and the Deans of Unmuha.

The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Aceh, Dr H Aslam Nur MA, explained that the collaboration could synergize well and ensue mutual outputs for both parties in elevating each higher education institution. “I expect that the deans and heads of the study program would take advantage of the collaboration to be implemented in their units,” he said.

All parties expectancy in the signing of MoU was there would be a follow-up program in each MHEI and the MoU would not be an archive paper, but it could be well implemented so that would ensure the good synergy from all parties.

FEBI UM Kendari Launched Rice and Egg Automated Machine

In support of the mosque service for underprivileged people, Digital Business Department students, Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business (FEBI) UM Kendari launched the Rice and Egg Automated Machine in Jama Alfalah Lepo-Lepo Mosque, Monday (13/06).

The innovation also aimed to encourage the social entrepreneur skills of the students. UM Kendari students initiated the creation of the Rice and Egg Automated Machine in collaboration with Indonesia Mosque Council (DMI) Kendari. According to the Dean of FEBI, Syamsul Anam, this automated machine was a mosque service for the community as a medium to bridge the financially stable persons and the underprivileged. “With the rice and egg automated machine, we expect that the mosques have orientation in social service and not only focus in the mosque renovation and physical development,” Syamsul said, as reported on kendariinfo.com.

He added the importance of social service based on the community and society nearby the Mosque. So, later, the mosque could return to the khittah (knowledge of interest) to give the community social service. “Currently, we are ready to give a tutorial in the database collecting of jama’ah (congregation) and the community nearby; later, it can be followed up with the mosque’s service,” he concluded. 

The Rice and Egg Automated Machine was also completed by applying underprivileged databases and the infaq (charity) service of rice and eggs. Each recipient would get a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) card registered in the Kendari Mosque Council system. The mosque administrator arranged this RFID card about the rice and egg quantity of each recipient. “One of the innovations compares to existing machines is the addition of egg in addition to the rice on its service. STIKes Muh Gombong Held Basic Nursery Clinical Practice (PKK) Briefing

STIKes Muh Gombong held the briefing of basic nursery clinical practice (PKK Dasar) for the nursery students for the diploma program, Friday (11/06). The PKK Dasar was divided into six hospitals in Kebumen Regency, such as PKU Muhammadiyah Gombong Hospital, Muhammadiyah Sruweng Hospital, dr Soedirman Kebumen Hospital, Permata Medika Kebumen Hospital, Purwaganda Hospital, and Purbowangi Hospital.

Nurlaila, MKep, as the Head of Nursery Department of Diploma Program, delivered remarks and briefing for the first-year student. “In practicing the clinical practice in hospital should obey the rules, for example, the practice schedule. There will be a supervisor who guides during the practice in the hospital,” she said. Moreover, the students were expected to be active when doing the nursery actions for the experience and always maintain the health protocol with preparing the personal protective equipment (PPE), face shield, mask, and hand sanitizer should not be left behind. “I hope after this clinical practice, the student should absorb the knowledge from the practice. So, good luck, and do not forget to stay healthy for the nursery program students,” she said.

Hendri Tamara Yuda, MKep as the person in charge and the resource person, explained in the Covid-19 pandemic, the clinical practice would be different. The PPE was required to be prepared, such as a face shield, surgery mask, and gown. It should be worn when undergoing clinical practice. Besides the PPE, the students should achieve the assessment target stated in the guidebook.

UM Gresik Achieved ISO Certification

Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik (UM Gresik) officially achieved ISO Certificate 9001:2015 again on Tuesday (08/06). The university passed through an Audit process from the Indonesia NQA team for two days. As a result, no result was found in the Audit process. However, it means that the quality management standard in UM Gresik plan has fulfilled the customer and stakeholder requirements.

The result portrayed that UM Gresik has qualified the legal standing and regulations in its services. Also, the certification status has assured UM Gresik’s competence to fulfill customer satisfaction. It was measured by the quality and performance shown.

UM Gresik has received the ISO certificate 9001:2015 in the five consecutive years since 2016. It was the UMG evidence to elevate the performance and service quality (continuous improvement) in implementing academic and non-academic activity as the spirit of an education service foundation.

The Head of Quality Assurance Agency (BPM) UMG, Dr Slamet Asari, MPd explained that the ISO certification aimed to ensure UMG concerning the quality in all aspects to create the quality culture in UMG. Dr Asari expected, in short, UMG would be able to prioritize continuous quality management by concerning the requirements in the global dynamic. He also hoped that this continual quality improvement in institutional management was guaranteed.

Julian Algaza, Psychology student Universitas Muhammadiyah Lampung (UML), get the national achievement in the 1st place of Psychophoto. The announcement was conducted online. Based on an interview with the Public Relations of UML on Thursday (10/06), Julian Algaza explained his experience chronologically. At first, the Psychology UML sent their three students to follow three different categories, namely psychophoto, storytelling, and Mental Health video promotion.

The Lecturer of Psychology Faculty, Sovi Septiania MSi, guided this psychopoto category. She aimed to convey the right message that the mental health concept portrayed in the photo. The Psychology Department Association of Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (APSI-PTMA) was the competition organizer. Approximately 18 representatives of the Indonesian campus followed the competition.

Gaza, in more detail, explained the psychophoto named “Menggapai Asa Masa Depan” (Pursue The Future Dream) told about a child as the future generation of a nation should have the opportunity to play based on his developmental age. This opportunity could be in providing their right as a child. “Alhamdulillah, I achieved 1st place in psychophoto category,” he said. Gaza expected that he could share his talent in photography in the Student Activity Unit (UKM) in the university to encourage other students to embrace their talent and interest.

The Rector of UML, Dr H Dalman, MPd expected that this national achievement could bring advantages, significantly contributing to the national achievement of UML students. “I hope UML rising in prominence and progressive,” he said. UM Surabaya Prepared Rp 2,5 Billion Scholarship For The New Students

Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya) prepared scholarship funds of Rp 2,5 Billion for the prospective students. The scholarship and specific program were provided as the university responded to the Covid-19 pandemic, which was not over yet.

The Vice-Rector of Student Affairs, Innovation, and Human Resources explained that the budget allocation of the scholarship was an opportunity provided to the community to study in higher education, both in bachelor and diploma degrees. “In the pandemic, several people face difficult times; however, we provide an open the door to pursue higher education to tackle the pandemic problems,” he said, as recorded on the official UMSurabaya site, Thursday (10/06).

Ma’ruf continued the funding would be divided into 12 scholarships and preeminent programs. It aimed to be accessible to a broader community, from students with low-income families, students with disabilities, and talented students.

The scholarship and preeminent program included from the KIP-K/Bidik Misi scholarship (the governmental allocation or internal), Tahfidz scholarship, Influencer, Athlete, Disability, Vocational High School Alumni, local society, Dhuafa, Children of Nurses/Midwives, Ma’had Umar bin Khattab, and Kuliah Berani Kerja (KBK). “Undoubtedly, in all programs, the candidate should meet the requirements which are stated and through the internal selection of the campus,” Radius Setiyawan, the Head of Institute for Information and New Student Enrolment (LIPBM), said. He continued, in short, the scholarship awardees would undergo the upbuilding program from Students, Alumni, and Innovation Bureau. By the achievements from the prospective students in their high school period, they should maintain their ability/competence after they achieve the scholarship.

Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Surakarta students succeeded in achieving two categories in the “2021 Physiotherapy of Student Scientific Week”. As reported in the official Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Surakarta on Wednesday (09/06), the Call for Paper Team comprised Andika Nur Chayaningsih, Abdullah Alba Nur Ihza, and Zulanda Indah Widyastuti achieved 2nd place. The three of them were Diploma-IV Physiotherapy students. Afterwards, Lusi Febrianti, Ria Nurdiana Sugita, and Tyan Antika Sukma got the second place in Scientific Poster category.

The Indonesia Physiotherapy Student Association (IMFI) collaborated with Universitas ‘Aisyiyah Yogyakarta Physiotherapy Student Association (Himafi) conducted the competition. It was held online, starting from the registration step to the review. In other words, the participants registered and sent their works to the link shared by the committee.

At the same time, the score would be reported. The team of Call for Paper which was in 2nd place, recorded of 78,65. The score was more than the preeminent candidate, namely Universitas Hasanuddin Makassar and Universitas Airlangga Surabaya. Afterwards, the group of Scientific Poster achieved second place with a score of 193. It surpassed the score from Universitas Airlangga. Twenty-nine students of D-III Nursing Science of Politeknik ‘Aisyiyah Sumatera Barat in Academic Year 2020/2021 underwent the procession of uniform wear and the recitation of nurses’ pledge last Wednesday (9/6). The agenda was held in the Convention Hall, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat. The Secretary of LLDIKTI Regional X, Yandri A, SH MH, and the Head of Indonesian National Nurse Association (PPNI), Ns Alfitri, SKep MKep, attended this meeting.

Moreover, Politeknik ‘Aisyiyah Sumatera Barat leaders witnessed the procession, including the Head of Daily Advisory Board, Hj. Syarlinawati Akbar, SPd MM; and the Director, Dr Desi Asmaret, M.Ag. The chairman of ‘Aisyiyah Province Board of West Sumatera, Dra Hj Meiliarni Rusli, also attended this agenda. The Constitutional Court (MK) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang (UMT) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) about the constitutional socialization in the Higher Education Institution, Friday (04/06). The agreement was in implementing the public lecture themed “The evaluation of the 2019 Presidential Election and 2020 Simultaneous Regional Elections from Constitutional Court Perspective.” The signing ceremony was conducted in the Jenderal Sudirman Auditorium of the UMT Campus.

The Chief Justice of MK, Dr Anwar Usman, MH, explained that the constitution required socialization through higher education institutions to the broader community. Consequently, people could understand and comprehend the constitutions.” The collaboration with UMT is the first step. The Secretary-General and the Rector have been signed MoU for the implementation ahead. One crucial step was to conduct socialization in various regions. Including in the remote area, for example, Baten Barat, insya Allah we will realize it all,” he said.

The Rector of UMT, Dr Ahmad Amarullah, MPd, mentioned the campus favorably welcomed the MK intention because governmental institutions and higher education should take advantage of building community awareness to obey the constitutional principle. “I think it is a part of Catur Dharma implementation of Muhammadiyah Higher Education Institutions. UMP Becomes The First Campus That Declare GJDJ in Indonesia

Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) declared Gerakan Jamaah Dakwah Jamaah (GJDJ) ‘Islamic Assembly Movement and Da’wah’ coincided with Public Ceremony, Monday (07/06) conducted in the local campus by applying a strict Covid-19 health protocol.

Muhammadiyah Province Board (PWM) Central Java, Drs H Tafsir MAg; the Rector of UMP, Dr Jebul Suroso; the Daily Advisory Board (BPH), the Vices-Rector attended the ceremony. Moreover, all lecturers and staff in UMP were also presented.

“It was the first GJDJ declaration by Indonesia campus. I expect that the campus and other business units in Muhammadiyah can follow what UMP has established. From Purwokerto, UMP for Muhammadiyah in Indonesia,” the Chairman of PWM Central Java said, on his remarks. Tafsir also appreciated the GJDJ declaration. In his opinion, it was a prolonged concept that has been established by Muhammadiyah, but not effectively operated. Meanwhile, the GJDJ declaration by UMP leads the other campuses and other Muhammadiyah services to follow. “It is a part of Muhammadiyah concrete works as a civil society movement. It started in the smallest community then will improve into a strong power,” he said.

Meanwhile, in his remarks, the Rector of UMP mentioned the GJDJ held in UMP aimed to strengthen the spirit to devote to Allah, through the innovation program based on Muhammadiyah Central Board, which is GJDJ. “We, on behalf of all UMP leaders, will state GJDJ as an inevitable program which should be implemented in UMP,” he said.

The rector also emphasized that GJDJ was not only to maintain the human resource quality before Allah but also to elevate the relation with fellow human beings. “Our struggle to enlarge Muhammadiyah services with hard work, smart actualization. And I think, all of the attendance here was sincere. For now, let us complete our life with the devotion practice to Allah,” he said.

Previously, the Head of the Institute for Research and Islamic Implementation (LPPI), Dr Asep Daud Kosasih MAg, reported the upbuilding program of UMP staff in the GJDJ method. “The human resource and UMP staff have a central role as the main component in realizing the University vision, mission, and goals, even in Muhammadiyah ideals,” he emphasized.

The Head of Muhammadiyah Regional Board (PDM) Banyumas, Dr Ibnu Hasan added GJDJ as the da’wah movement in the assembly units. “So, if it was not in the unit forms, it will be difficult. Whoever the actors, if they do not use networks, it will fail. Therefore, GJDJ can strengthen both internal and external networking, so the effectiveness can be achieved,” he said.
