UM Palopo Held Blood Donation To Create Solidarity

Management Student Association of Universitas Muhammadiyah Palopo (UM Palopo) held the blood donation last Wednesday (23/06). The agenda was conducted in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross, Palopo region. The Inauguration Committee and the Work Meeting of Indonesian Management Student Association (HMMI) Regional VI also assisted.

As a humanitarian organization, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Palopo provides blood donations. “The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Palopo as the red-cross organization will support and encourage the blood donation,” Haidir Basir said. The agenda was a series from the Inauguration and the Work Meeting of Indonesian Management Student Association (HMMI) Regional VI. According to the Chairman of the Management Student Association (HMPS) in Management Departement Universitas Muhammadiyah Palopo, Muhammad Padli, the agenda was not only a serial agenda for the Inauguration and the Work Meeting of Indonesian Management Student Association (HMMI) Regional VI.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA) held Graduation Ceremony Period XXXVII for the Diploma, Bachelor, and Post-Graduate programs both online and offline in KH Ahmad Dahlan Auditorium, Saturday (19/6). Four hundred ninety-one graduates followed the Graduation Ceremony in two different sessions with applying the strict health protocols.

Nadiem Anwar Makarim MBA as The Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Dr M Saad Ibrahim MA as Muhammadiyah Province Board (PWM) of East Java, and Prof Dr Ir Soeprapto DEA as the Head of LLDIKTI Regional VII East Java also attended the ceremony. The scientific oration by the Member of The House of Representatives Commission X, Prof Dr Zainuddin Maliki MSi, who is also the Vice-Chairman of PWM East Java.

In his remarks, Nadiem Anwar Makarim invited all students and graduates to notice the rapid transformation. “Undoubtedly, we have found the new issues and realized that there is innovation in everyday life. We should have the personal transformation for the surrounding environment, especially for the Indonesian students,” he said.

The Indonesian students should increase their competence in education. It could be improving knowledge and technology literacy to overcome the digital world needs. At the same time, they should integrate the local culture in their manners and speech. “After graduating, you all should contribute to Indonesia with all you can do best. The next-generation success to reach their dreams was pride for parents, alma mater, and community. Unismuh Palu Opened Vaccination Service Centre to 2.000 People

Universitas Muhammadiyah Palu (Unismuh Palu) opened the Covid-19 vaccination service centre with 2.000 quotas. This service was conducted in collaboration with Muhammadiyah Covid-19 Command Center (MCCC) Muhammadiyah Central Board. The vaccination program was opened to the public, including the elderly, Muhammadiyah public service, Unismuh Palu academic civitas, and the inter-religion community. The program was free of charge, and its registration opened until June 30, 2021, at 18.00 Central Indonesian Time. PKU Muhammadiyah Palu Clinic became the vaccination site in Jalbar Nur street 5, Palu.

The Rector of Unismuh Palu, Dr Rajindra SE MM, explained that Muhammadiyah, from the Indonesian first case announced, has been supported to the governmental steps in handling the Covid-19 pandemic. “Muhammadiyah formed a special body of Covid-19 Command Center supporting the medical treatment in hospital,” he said. Student Executive Board (BEM) Universitas Muhammadiyah Kudus (UMKU) held the Entrepreneurship Webinar. The webinar was conducted on Sunday (20/06) and raised the theme “Be The Next Entrepreneur: Challenge, Opportunity and How To Survive”. The event was held online in Zoom Meeting and live streaming on Youtube. Two speakers, Dr Kintoko SF MSc Apt, the FOunder of Naturonal Official and Nunung Agus Firmansyah ST MT, the Director CV Gafiro Total Sulosindo and the Industrial Engineering UMKU lecturer. Rizky Prayogo Pangestu led their session as moderator.

The first speaker, Nunung Agus Firmansyah, explained “Survive in the Pandemic Era By Technopreneurship”. In his presentation, he mentioned how to survive in the unpredictable situation of a pandemic. One of those is to be a socially responsible person. “The students are the prospective nation leaders, top and qualified human resources, and have good competence. Academically, you have good competence and achievements. And as a student, you should have social responsibility and appropriate ethics. I hope that UMKU students should adapt with the environment and personally, especially in a pandemic,” he said.

Kintoko presented the second material. He explained that the transformation of knowledge and skill for business continuity is essential to survive. “There are several steps in the business development, such as the growth of value, motivation and intention, skills and training, start-up business, and scaling-up/mastery,” Kintoko said. Law Debating Competition In UNIMMA Law Fair Series

The Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang (UNIMMA) held Law Fair on Monday (21/06). Law Fair comprised two agendas, the Law Debating Competition was a part of the series. By the theme “The Millenial Generation Perception Towards The Indonesian Legal Problems Resolution in 5.0 Era”, the Student Executive Board (BEM) FH UNIMMA conducted the event.

Dr Dyah Adriantini Sintha Dewi SH MHum, the Dean of Law Faculty UNIMMA, opened the agenda. She explained the purpose of the competition was to produce competitive students. “One of the ways is through the law debating competition which can elevate the social awareness and develop students’ perspective,” she said.

Moreover, Wahyu Putra Satria, the Committee Chief, explained the debate system in the competition was Asian Parliament Debate System. “The system is one of the systems that mostly used in the world and very simple. In the debate, two teams will face each other in one game. The system was conducted elimination system, starting from the preliminary round and final round,” Wahyu said.

Yulia Kurniaty SH MH, one of the jury mentioned the physically fit condition and intellectual mental of debater urgently needed. “At first, the participant should maintain the physical condition to be fit, second, in the intellectual preparation to read a lot and learn the motions both in pro and contra arguments,” Yulia said.

The assessment of the debate includes content, style of delivering expression, and defense strategy. To end the event, the committee announced 3 winners of the competition, the 1st place was achieved by Class A in the 2nd semester, the 2nd place for Class B in the 4th semester, and the 3rd place for Class B in the 6th semester.

UMRI Clean Water Well For Sukaramai People

The Institute For Research and Community Service (LPPM) Universitas Muhammadiyah Riau (UMRI) established two units of a clean water well on Tuesday (08/06). The establishment collaborated with PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (PT CPI). Both units are located in Tapung Hulu Mosque and Al-Mujahadah Mosque. By the establishment, the eager expectation to get clean water access of Sukaramai Village Tapung Hulu subdistrict, especially in the dry season, has been realized.

The inauguration was conducted in Tapung Hulu Mosque, invited Kampar Regent, H Catur Sugeng SH; the Head of Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas of Sumbagut, Rikky Rahmat Firdaus; the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah, Dr H Mubarak MSi; the Corporate Affairs Asset South manager, Wan Dedi Yudhistira; and all local public figures. The official inauguration was held in a strict health protocol.

“It has been years for Tapung Hulu people to expect a clean water source for broader community access. Today, through PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia and UMRI made it happen. I hope the community can maintain and keep it well,” Catur said. The clean water supply for the community in Sukaramai Village, Tapung Hulu district, Kampar regency has been established through the Social Investigation Program CHERISH (Chevron Untuk Riau Sehat Sejahtera). The program was in line with the governmental efforts for economic recovery and promoting a healthy lifestyle in the Covid-needs towards clean water source19 pandemic, especially for Sukaramai people.

“I hope this facility’s existence can fill the daily needs towards clean water sources to support public health, especially in the pandemic. We ask for this facility to keep benefiting long-term use,” Wan Dedi Yudhistira said when he delivered the speech.

The Rector of UMRI mentioned that establishing a clean water source in Sukaramai Tapung Hulu was the third location from the program. “Previously, the program was conducted in Minas Barat and Minas Timur,” he said. He expected that the collaborative program with PT CPI could assist the clean water needs for communities, especially in conditions that require society to apply healthy and clean lifestyles.

Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah (Unimuda) Sorong officially established UNIMUDA English Center (UEC) in local campus, Tuesday (15/06). This English institute establishment aimed to elevate the English proficiency of the students and Papuan community.

In his remarks, the Rector of Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah Sorong, Dr Rustamadji MSi, explained only a small number of Indonesian workers have jobs overseas because of the lack of English understanding and proficiency, so workers were transferred very limited. The UNIMUDA English Center’s existence could provide opportunities to have jobs abroad.

Rustamadji added that the minimum phenomenon of Indonesian employees transferring abroad is the English mastering level. “Therefore, today, we can start to learn English, opening the opportunity to run the world, starting from learning English in UEC to mastering English,” he said, as reported on the official UNIMUDA site.

UMKU Launched ‘Pesantren Covid-19’ Shelter for The Moderate Illness

Kudus Regent, HM Hartopo, launched the ‘Pesantren Covid-19’ Shelter of MCCC Universitas Muhammadiyah Kudus (UMKU) on Wednesday (16/06). The Covid-19 shelter was established by the collaboration of Muhammadiyah Province Board (PWM) of Central Java, Muhammadiyah Regional Board (PDM) of Kudus, UMKU, ‘Aisyiyah Kudus Hospital, Muhammadiyah Covid-19 Command Center (MCCC), LazisMu, and Kudus Government.

Rusnoto, the Rector of UMKU, expected that the shelter would help decrease the Covid-19 transmission for the positive patients who should undergo self-isolation. He admitted that UMKU would collaborate with ‘Aisyiyah Hospital for the screening process. “We don’t directly put the positive patients to the shelter, but we will recommend them from the doctors and the health workers reference in ‘Aisyiyah Hospital to ensure they are confirmed positive,” he said. He added that the Covid-19 shelter also has communicated to the stakeholders to ensure security and safety.

 In his remarks, HM Hartopo explained that the program would support the Government to conduct self-isolation as Kudus community who underwent self-isolation in Asrama Haji Donohudan Boyolali due to the limitation of the isolation room in Kudus. “I appreciate the shelter establishment , I expect it can be imitated and followed by the other universities, companies, and all broader communities, especially in villages,” he said.

On this occasion, HM Hartopo, accompanied by the Regional Government Coordination Forum (Forkompimda) Kudus, the Rector of UMKU, the Director of ‘Aisyiyah, MCCC, and PDM Kudus also had an opportunity to survey the dormitory of UMKU, which would be the self-isolation location. The Director of ‘Aisyiyah Hospital (RSA) Kudus, dr Hilal Ariadi, explained that when a patient undergoes self-isolation, the health workers from RSA will monitor the patient’s recovery by doctor visits. “If the patients experience a severe illness, the ambulance will bring them to the hospital for further medical examination. However, suppose the condition allows them to undergo self-isolation. In that case, they will be taken to the shelter. If they experience a critical condition, they should be treated in the hospital,” he said. The ‘Pesantren Covid-19” of MCCC UMKU will be operated on soon on Thursday (17/06).
