Consortium In Technology-based Economic Development

Universitas Muhammadiyah Kalimantan Timur (UMKT) collaborated with Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP) and Muhammadiyah Council for Higher Education, Research, and Development (CHERD) in conducting Innovation Consortium in Technology-based Economic in E Building of UMKT, Sunday (06/02).

In his remarks, the Rector of UMP, Jebul Suroso explained the agenda was responding development of technology in economics. “The consortium encourages Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (MHEIs) to create innovation based on their opportunities,” he said.

MHEIs should have various services based on information technology as a place in running campus economy. “We create consortium as a medium for the young generation, especially students in MHEI campus to be entrepreneurs by utilizing technology,” said Prof Bambang Setiaji, the Rector of UMKT.

Furthermore, Prof Bambang explained that the UMKT campus had innovated in technology-based economics, including the FoodieMu launch. It aimed UMKT to be an educational and economic driving force in future technology-based innovation.

The Chairman of Muhammadiyah Regional Board (PWM) Kalimantan Timur, Suyatman, appreciated the consortium that has invited all MHEIs Indonesia. He also added that the millennial era requires a breakthrough in technology-based economics. “Indeed, Muhammadiyah exists for the advantages of nations and country. By this agenda, we can create several masterworks,” he said.
