Uhamka Has The First Doctoral Degree for Indonesian Education Department in Jakarta

Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. DR. HAMKA (Uhamka) on Monday (22/11) officially established the first doctoral program of Indonesian Education in Jakarta by the issuance of the Ministerial Decree of Indonesia Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Number 494/E/O/2021 about the permit. The Head of the Institute for Higher Education Service (LLDIKTI) Regional III, Prof Dr Agus Setyo Budi, MSc, handed the decree over to the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof DR. HAMKA, Prof Dr Gunawan Suryoputro, MHum who accompanied by the Daily Advisory Board Uhamka.

The doctoral program of Indonesian Education in Uhamka would support LLDIKTI Regional III to complete the Key Performance Indicator and to keep enthusiasm to compete in doing the good deeds. “Alhamdulillah, Uhamka have long waited for this good news and coincided with the 64th Uhamka anniversary. It could be a special present for us as the first university in Jakarta which has established the doctoral program of Indonesian Education,” the Rector of Uhamka, Prof Dr Gunawan Suryoputro.

The Rector explained that shortly, the campus would commit to producing the graduates who have spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and social intelligence to create a progressive civilization. The campus vision is to create a prophetic teaching university bringing the campus located in Jakarta to keep innovating and adjusting the rapid development. “The number of doctors is still low; even the lecturers with the doctoral degree can not fulfill the 21% target accounted for 58,000 lecturers which have a doctoral degree. The number of doctoral students in the Indonesian Education Department is still very limited in number. Undoubtedly, it can influence the education quality,” he said.  [] Uhamka / Diktilitbang
