Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember conducted Smart Village School, which officially opened Wednesday (8/9). The Smart Village School was the Faculty of Economics and Business UM Jember program. The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) held this agenda through the Creative Economy and Community Service Development Center (P2EKLM). The agenda was in collaboration with Village Community Empowerment Agency (DPMD) Jember Regency.
The Smart Village School was the partnership implementation between Pemda Jember and Universitas Muhammadiyah Jember. The Rector of UM Jember, Dr. Hanafi, M.Pd. explained the program was one of the responsibilities in Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which is in community services. “Between educating and conducting research,” he said. In the next agenda, there were the education and research fields, FEB contributed in the academics field to accelerate the quality development of village apparatus’ human resources.
Then, Jember Regent Ir. H. Hendy Siswanto explained that it was a form of partnership needed by all parties. “It’s time for Jember to work together, and it needs support from all parties,” he said on the official UM Jember site. He attended the opening ceremony in Ahmad Zainuri building, UM Jember. He thoroughly and openly supported reaching the community’s advantages. In his speech, he also mentioned the COVID-19 pandemic and Restriction of Community Activities (PPKM). He also hoped Jember citizens would always obey the health protocols, although Jember’s PPKM level decreased.
