Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP), Banyumas, Central Java hosted the 22nd Muhammadiyah Student Association (IPM) Congress (Muktamar), Thursday-Sunday (25-28/03).
The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Board, Dahlan Rais; the Chairman of Muhammadiyah Regional Board (PDM) Banyumas, Dr Ibnu Hasan; the Rector of UMP, Dr Jebul Suroso; the Chairman of IPM Central Board, Hafiz Syafaaturrahman; and the Chairman of IPM Province Board of Central Java, Nurul Huda.
On this occasion, the Rector of UMP, Dr Jebul Suroso, provided 2,2 Billion for the organization cadres. “We facilitated the young cadres to continue studying in UMP. Forty-eight study programs and eleven faculties in UMP, starting from Diploma-III, Bachelor, and Postgraduate programs, have already prepared 2,2 Billion for the nation’s future generations,” said Dr Jebul Suroso.
The Rector highlighted to all cadres all over Indonesia to pursue the study in UMP. “We should not let the potential cadres stop studying. It will be disadvantageous to all of us,” he said. Meanwhile, the Chairman of IPM Central Board, Hafiz Syafaaturrahman explained that the congress in UMP would be history due to the virtual realization of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I think it surpasses the contemporaries’ approach. The congress will be history, but also can be Islamic da’wa symbols generally, that the progressive students are equity and play as role models,” said Hafiz. He also persuaded all cadres all over Indonesia to contribute to providing an excellent idea so that a good history is created and written collectively. “The physical evidence may be lost, but the intellectual history and movement will be memorized. I hope the good memories will occur in Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto ahead,” Hafiz concluded.
