Universitas Muhammadiyah Kudus (UMKU) collaborated with the Local Government of Salatiga on Wednesday (08/12). In the signing MoU procession, Rusnoto SKM, MKes (Epid), the Rector of UMKU, attended the procession. Vice-Rector I, II, and III were also presented on the agenda. The local government from Salatiga, H Yulianto SE MM, as the Salatiga Mayor and related officers. The collaboration of both parties will be conducted in research, education, development, and community services.

Rusnoto delivered his speech by mentioning the collaboration to develop both parties. “I expect that it will have a positive impact on the Salatiga development. In the same way, UMKU will improve the study program and scientific discussion forum establishment,” said Rusnoto. UMKU and the local government conducted a public lecture to begin the collaboration. It raised the theme “ The Strategy of Young, Creative, and Innovative Entrepreneurs in the Digital Era.” Six hundred sixty-nine participants attended the lecture, which was held offline and online. The participants of the general study were from the local governments, general community, and UMKU academic civitas.

Afterwards, Yulianto explained Salatiga developmental orientation in 3 ways: wasis, waras, and wareg. The three of them can be applied in entrepreneurship and economic development. “The economic development orientation in Salatiga focuses on the micro, small, and medium enterprises. We offer the entrepreneur to start a business with a digital platform. For instance, utilize the marketplace, business legal management, training, and build the stakeholders’ trust,” he said, as reported on the official UMKU site.
