Unmuha Lectures Was Encouraged To Arrange Textbook

Faculty of Psychology Universitas Muhammadiyah Aceh (Unmuha) held a workshop for textbooks arrangement which was opened by the Dean of Psychology, Barmawi S.Ag, M.Si in the Rectorate Meeting room, the first-floor Unmuha, Thursday (12/08).

Hanna Amalia, M.Psi., Psikolog and Maria Ulfa, S.Psi., M.Pd. delivered their materials in front of the Head of Department (Kaprodi), Devi Yanti M.Psi.; Vice-Dean, Winda Putri Diah Restya, S.Psi. MA, and lecturers as participants.

The Dean of Psychology Faculty Unmuha, Barmawi, S.Ag. M.Si explained that the workshop of the textbooks arrangement was targeted for lecturers in the Faculty. “The workshop was a motivation and encouragement for the lecturers to write textbooks,” he said.

The textbook arrangement for the lecturers was conducted to get full support from the University leaders and would conduct in every semester. It was expected to get appreciation from the University.

The target of this textbook arrangement, later, became the primary reference which was used for the students’ requirement and the readers who had an interest in Psychology. The research result from the lecturers would be materials in the subjects which will be lectured. “As the Psychology Faculty leaders, I encourage and motivate lecturers to write and no limitation,” Barmawi said.

The textbook writer for the lecturers of Psychology Faculty Unmuha, Hanna Amalia, M.Psi., Psikolog explained that the lecturers should have scientific works to be used for the students, and expect the lecturers to motivate in the writing which was not hard if they were practicing.

The output for the workshop was hoped that every lecturer could write, at least wrote the outline for the textbook. “Alhamdulillah, the University and the Psychology Faculty Unmuha leaders supported this workshop for the textbook writing for the Psychology Faculty lecturers by providing incentive in every work of lecturers. Moreover, we expected that in the future, there would be our own publishing house. Because for now, the lecturers’ works were published by the outside agency,” she concluded. Soft Skill Training of STFM Tangerang Widen Job Opportunities

Sekolah Tinggi Farmasi Muhammadiyah Tangerang (STFM Tangerang) held the soft skill training “ready-to-work” last Thrusday (12/8). The agenda was targeted the final-year students, both in D-III and S-1. However, the participants were also juniors. The Students Affairs collaborated with the Academic Department conducted this agenda to prepare STFM Tangerang graduates to be ready to compete in the working world.

The soft skill training materials were contained a lot of aspects to support the work preparation. It was including the motivation to apply for a job, the tips for applying for a job, CV arrangement, and interpersonal communication (interview). Moreover, there was a job fair from several industries offering jobs to support the training.

The training comprised three sessions and invited speakers experienced in the particular field. The two sessions were the Curriculum Vitae arrangement and public relationship, where Abdul Wahid A.Md. ‘Kang AW’ explained more about the good CV arrangements in the first session. He also shared the tips in job interviews. Meanwhile, the moderator of this first session was La Ode Akbar Rasydy MSi.

In the second session, H Asep Ridrid Karana SH CH explained the way to build relationships and communication with others. Moreover, he also motivated and encouraged the participants with Ariani Apriliani as the moderator guide.

Afterwards, the third session was the information about the job fair. The information invited PT Pharos Indonesia and PT Sumber Indah Lestari (DANDAN). Metro Mayor, dr Wahdi Sirajiddin, Sp OG (K), launched a limited liability company (PT) Metro Surya Inovasi Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro (UM Metro), Wednesday (11/8).

dr Wahdi mentioned PT Metro Surya Inovasi (Mesva) as a prideful achievement for UM Metro. In his opinion, the financial distribution from Central to Metro Local Government should reach a broader community, especially in the Covid-19 pandemic. “The current financial condition should be spent for the community’s necessity, especially when we face the Covid-19 pandemic. The cash flow should continuously move, we should invest and distribute it for the communities,” he said.

dr Wahdi prompted economic drivers to be wise to analyze opportunities to understand what society needs. “Keep thinking positively, praying, and supporting each other. So we could raise together and motivate each other. Fastabiqul khairat (vying to do the good deeds). More people who drive the economics, more community’s necessity which can achieve. We should be clever in observing changes, do not be stammered with current condition,” he said.

That was the statement from Prof. Dr. Haedar Nashir, M.Si as the President of Muhammadiyah Central Board in the Press Conference of Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia establishment online, Thursday (12/08). The UMAM establishment is a new milestone as the first Indonesian higher education institution overseas,” he said.

The UMAM establishment became a milestone in an active role in widening the movement to educate nations and develop higher education institutions globally. UM Lampung Cojoined MCCC To Conduct Interfaith Vaccination

Universitas Muhammadiyah Lampung (UM Lampung) collaborated with Muhammadiyah Covid-19 Command Center (MCCC) to conduct the Covid-19 vaccination for the Lampung people. The vaccination targeted 2000 participants from Muhammadiyah members in Lampung, public community, and interfaith person, Monday-Thursday (09-12/08).

The Head of Health Service in Lampung, Reihana, explained that the vaccination would be an effort to flatten the curve of the Covid-19 patients.”If we have been vaccinated, when we confirm as Covid-19 positive, the symptom we get will be moderate,” Reihana said, as reported on suaramuhammadiyah.id.

While the government underwent 3T (Test, Tracing, and Treatment), the communities should apply a strict health protocol to support the excellent collaboration between government and communities in reducing Covid-19 transmission.

Prof Dr H Marzuki Noor, MS, mentioned the Muhammadiyah efforts in encouraging vaccination programs, including education, socialization, mask-wearing, simultaneously by Muhammadiyah Regional Board and many others. “Five thousand vaccines quota have been divided for the vaccination scheduled,” the Chairman of Muhammadiyah Province Board (PWM) Lampung said.

The Chairman of MCCC Lampung, dr H Wirman, MKes explained that the vaccination was open for everyone, not only Muslims but also the people of other faiths. ”Because Muhammadiyah da’wa movement orientation was for all religions, not only Muslims. I expect that in the future, we can provide a greater number of vaccines,” he said.

In line with the previous statement, Dr H Dalman MPd, the Rector of UM Lampung emphasized the commitment to serve the communities to access vaccines without concerning about religious views. “All religions, not only for Muslim, we will serve to get vaccine and I expect that the vaccination can end the pandemic, in Lampung especially,” he said.

UM Surabaya Provides Scholarship For Orphans Affected by Covid-19

The unrelenting delta variant of the Covid-19 pandemic causes the death case increase. From the Ministry of Social (Kemenkes) data, there are 11.405 children whose parents died due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Recently, the children have become orphans. Responding to the situation, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya) provides a scholarship to high school graduates.

Ma’ruf Sya’ban, the Vice-Rector of Student Affairs, Innovation and Human Resources, highlighted the pandemic, which is not over yet; solidarity is the primary key to the nation’s strength. Whatever the condition, he expected that the children should continue studying at school.
“The children are the national asset, therefore UM Surabaya provides a scholarship for the high school graduates whose parents died due to the pandemic. We named Insan Berdaya Scholarship. I hope that it gives the children way to be an independent and dignified generation,” Makruf said, as reported on Monday (09/08).

Afterwards, Ma’ruf explained that the students who received the scholarship would be exempt from the building and tuition fees from the first year to the final. This decision was given for the students figuring the expenses but only focusing on the study.

Radius Setiyawan, the Head of the Institute for Information and New Student Enrolment (LIPMB), explained the detailed student enrolment process with the program similar to the previous 12 top programs of UM Surabaya. What is different is the requirement aspect for the students whose parents died due to Covid-19 with the attachment of a statement letter of the Chief of RT/RW.

“The new student enrolment process of Insan Muda Scholarship was officially opened until 31 August 2021 by the filling of online form in the official UM Surabaya site, collecting files, and conducting online test and interview,” Radius said.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar (Unismuh Makassar) would conduct the 2021-2022 Annual Meeting offline and online, Wednesday-Thursday (11-12/08). The meeting would be located in the Courtroom of Unismuh Makassar.

The Committee Chief of this meeting, Dr Andi Sukri Syamsuri, explained that the agenda aimed to evaluate the program planned by Unismuh in the previous year.

“The meeting also would project the strategical programs conducted by Unismuh academic civitas based on its strategic plans,” the Vice-Rector II, Unismuh Makassar in the local campus, Tuesday (10/08).

The Committee Secretary and the Coordinator of Steering Committee of the meeting, Dr Khaeruddin, continued that all programs that would be arranged later should be based on the Key Performance Indicator (IKU) of Higher Education Institution.

“Because the programs not only refers to the intention but should point out IKU achievements,” the Chief of Planning, Monitoring and Information Technology (Bapepan-IT) Unismuh said.

The participants of the meeting, Khaeruddin continued, would be divided into five commissions. The A commission would discuss the Academic and Collaboration theme, the B commission would discuss Human Resources and Financial theme, the C commission would arrange the Student Affairs and Alumni, while the D commission would discuss Islamic and Muhammadiyah Studies, Cadre, and Public Relations, and the E commission would arrange Policy theme.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Banjarmasin (UM Banjarmasin) opened the Student Study Service (KKN) Program, last Monday (9/8). The Institute for Research and Student Study Service (LPPM) of UM Banjarmasin opened the agenda via Zoom Meeting themed “The Community Empowerment towards Indonesia without Covid-19”. Dr. Apt M Anshari SSi MM, Head of LPPM and Chief Executive of Independent KKN, attended to give the report. Afterwards, the Rector of UM Banjarmasin, Prof Dr. H Ahmad Khairuddin MAg, also attended to deliver a speech and opened the agenda officially.

Dr M Anshari reported about the Independent Student Study Service implementation. KKN aimed to develop the students’ cognitive and social awareness. “Moreover, as in Regular KKN, Independent KKN also aimed to support the development process in the community. Therefore, the self-image and real performance of the students from KKN participants would be the benchmark,” he said. The benchmark includes were two of Tri dharma ‘three values’ of higher education institutions, namely education, and research. He hoped that the two values already existed in each individual.

UM Buton Released Students To Conduct Community Service Program

Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton (UM Buton) released the students to conduct the community service of Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah (KKN MAs) in the Rectorate Building on Saturday (07/08).

The students released to Lombok Island were previously provided with a briefing and located in Korea Building on the local campus. By the theme “Strengthening Tourism Potency and Creative Economy in Lombok Barat and Lombok Utara Regency”, the students would bring three kinds of program, including the main program as program planned with the community, supporting program as a program to help the community and Muhammadiyah program as the Islamic and Muhammadiyah values implementation.

The Rector of UM Buton, Dr Wa Ode Al Zarliani, explained that the community service was followed by 10 students from various UM Buton study programs. “KKN MAs is the second batch followed by students to encourage them to be an intellectual, creative, innovative, and independent individual,” he concluded.

The Rector also expected that the students who followed the agenda could achieve knowledge and experience. “With community service agenda, the students learn directly in real life and can implement in communities with various problems faced,” he said.

KKN MAs is community empowerment conducted by students and their field supervisors from Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (MHEIs) all over Indonesia simultaneously.

STIE Muhammadiyah Jakarta Conducted Vaccination

Institute for Economics Science Muhammadiyah Jakarta (STIE Muhammadiyah Jakarta) became a vaccination site from Monday to Thursday (2-5/08). In the implementation, STIE Muhammadiyah Jakarta collaborated with Regional Military Command (Kodam) Jaya Jakarta. The health workers were involved in the vaccination also from Kodam Jaya Jakarta. The Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19 STIE Muhammadiyah Jakarta also supported this circumstance. A thousand and five hundred participants have been vaccinated, involving the students and public community.

The agenda raised theme “To Protect Ourselves and Families by Covid-19 Vaccination”. It aimed to accelerate handling Covid-19 in Jakarta. The public community was vaccinated for the first dose.

The poster “Serbuan Vaksinasi Covid-19: Get Your Vaccine” promoted the community to get the Covid-19 vaccine. The requirements needed for the vaccination were a copy of the Identity Card, the original Card, and wearing a mask.

The Vice-Chairman III of Student Affairs, Sutar SE MM, explained the details for the vaccination purpose. The first goal was to support governmental programs in accelerating the vaccination process. The second purpose was to prevent and stop the Covid-19 transmission. “Afterwards, the third goal is to maintain the healthy academic civitas and cut the Covid-19 transmission on campus,” he said, as reported on the official STIEMJ site.
