UM Sumbar Launched Two Mosques For Disseminating Good Deeds

Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat (UM Sumbar) officially launched two mosques in the campus area on Wednesday and Thursday (2-3/2). The mosques include the Campus Mosque IV Payakumbuh and Campus Mosque III Bukittinggi. Both mosques are worth six billion rupiahs through the waqf from H Hendri and Hj Asweti. The mosques that were named Al Hidayah have been launched by the Vice-Mayor of Bukittinggi, Marfendi, and the Rector of UM Sumbar, Dr Riki Saputra MA. Prof Dr Shofwan Karim MA and invited guests have also attended the procession.

Dr Riki appreciated the couple who donated their possession to the university. “Thank you for H Hendri and Hj Asweti. I hope that God grant you good health to keep disseminating the good deeds amid the communities,” he said, as reported on the UM Sumbar site.

Afterwards, Dr Riki mentioned the Mosques’ treatment and maintenance becomes a moral responsibility for all academic civitas in UM Sumbar. “We establish the mosques to be a place to worship and serve as religious activities to deal with communities’ problems,” said Dr Riki.

Afterwards, Marfendi performs to cut the ribbon for the mosque launching. He also mentioned that it was the seventh mosque in the Aua Kuniang neighborhood. “I hope UM Sumbar can establish zakat management unit in Al-Hidayah mosque. Later, the mosque management will manage the public funds productively for the community benefits,” he said.

Tens of students in twelve-grade of MA (Islamic High School) Darul Hikmah Lenggo-Lenggo, Sinjai Timur visited the Institute for Islamic Studies Muhammadiyah (IAIM) Sinjai, Sultan Hasanuddin street 20 on Thursday (03/02).

They were accompanied by the Bureau of Student Affairs, Badiana MPd and Public Relation Affairs, Fatahillah, SPd to tour the campus and experience the facilities of IAI Muhammadiyah Sinjai.

Badiana explained that this Campus Tour is an evaluation meeting result to socialize the New Student Admission (PMB). “Tens twelve-grade students of MA Darul Hikmah Lenggo-Lenggo become the first visitors in the Campus Tour program. Afterwards, we will continue to give opportunities for students in other schools to visit and directly experience the campus environment in IAI Muhammadiyah Sinjai,” he said.

Moreover, on this occasion, the Bureau of Student Affairs also explained that the Campus Tour program is a breakthrough that has been recommended by campus boards to introduce prominent facilities and programs directly to prospective students.

“I hope that by this program, the great facilities and programs of IAI Muhammadiyah Sinjai can be acknowledged by a lot of students. It also aims to recommend them to pursue a higher education degree in IAIM,” said Badi, who is also a Postgraduate of IAI Muhammadiyah Sinjai alumnus.

UM Banten Held Journalistic Training To Go International

Universitas Muhammadiyah Banten (UM Banten) conducted the journalistic training located in Darul Tijaroh Sodong Tigaraksa, Saturday-Sunday (29-30/01). The training aimed to produce journalists that particularly would become a Journalistic Team of UM Banten.

The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Banten, Dr Partono Siswosuharjo explained that the training is a recommended non-formal program due to the addition of the Diploma Supplement Certificate. Later, besides acquiring knowledge in the classroom, the students also broaden their non-formal education materials. “Especially, in the recent days, they are in a millennial era that requires various materials to have competitiveness, that in Islam are known as fastabiqul khairat (to compete with one another in doing good),” he said.

The journalistic training was also expected to ease the students in their scientific writing or article and thesis arrangement. “In the future, it is possible to conduct a specific activity and own a radio program,” he added. UNMUHA Continues Community Service Efforts Amid Pandemic

Universitas Muhammadiyah Aceh (UNMUHA) conducted a handover procession for students who follow the Integrated Field Study (PBL) in Academic Year 2021/2022 on Monday (31/01). The procession was located in the Ulee Kareng District office. The Chief Committee, Tahara Dilla Santi, MBiomed reported that the program continued the previous program, PBL I, that have been conducted by Public Health Faculty students on 24-29 January 2022. On the last day, the students should present a report of field study in Community Health Center (Puskesmas) and also explain organizational culture analysis in Puskesmas.

The PBL II and III are scheduled from 31 January to 12 February 2022, located in three villages, including Ceurih, Ilie, and Pango Deah with its ten sub-villages. “The agenda will be conducted for two weeks by involving 133 students,” said Tahara, as reported on UNMUHA.

The Dean of Public Health Faculty, Prof Asnawi Abdullah, SKM, MHSM, MSc.HPPF, DLSHTM, PhD, handed the students over to the Head of Health Service Office. Afterwards, the Head of Health Office submitted them to the Head of Ulee Kareng District. “The students should have several urgent competencies, including situation study and analysis, development and planning of health service program, and communication. The students also conducted community empowerment, knowledge, and leadership mastery,” Prof Asnawi hoped.

In his remarks, the Head of Health Service Office Banda Aceh, Lukman SKM MKes explained the students should have antigen swab results before undergoing the field study. It is necessary due to the Covid-19 cases rise. He also prompted the students to tighten the health protocol, obey 5M: wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining social distance, limiting mobility, and staying away from the crowd.

The Sports Education Department in Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) held Traditional Game Festival on Saturday (29/01) in the Second Campus Sports Center. Eko Sudarmanto, SPd, MOr, the Sports Education lecturers, explained that this is the first festival conducted by UMS. “The agenda becomes an actualization program for traditional games subject that the outcome is to implement a festival,” he said. He also expected from the festival, the traditional games could be returned to play nationally for the current youth generation known as the millennial generation.

“I hope we can pass the traditional games to the next generation that in current condition, it has been left behind by them due to the rapid development of technology. Meanwhile, they have lost their way. With the importance of persevering cultures that include traditional games, we should foster the culture in the public communities,” he said.

On the same occasion, the Chief of Festival Committee, Kahfi Hidayat explained that the agenda is the first festival as the support and guidance from his supervisors. “We raise the theme “The Splendor of Millenial Generation in Developing and Persevering Traditional Games” as a diminish representation of traditional games in the recent era,” said Kahfi Hidayat.

He also mentioned several traditional games involved in the festival, including dakon (a wood consisting of fourteen pits filled with particles that played by two players), bakiak (a traditional wooden sandal having straps), betengan (fort games), tarik tambang (tug of war), egrang (two rods made of bamboo which has pedestal bottom), eklek, and many other games. UMSIDA Student Volunteers, Humanitarian Mission For Semeru Eruption

Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo (UMSIDA) sent thirteen volunteers to East Java on Wednesday (02/01). The volunteers comprised ten students for psychosocial volunteers, three students to work in the public kitchen, and a student for publication. They are the students in the Psychology and Communication Science departments. In this circumstance, they would serve in a humanitarian mission for the Semeru Mountain eruption in Lumajang, East Java.

The humanitarian mission was formed in Community Service of Disaster Management to complete the requirement of volunteers in Muhammadiyah Disaster Management Center (MDMC) East Java. Dr Sigit, the Director of the Directorate for Research and Community Service (DRPM) UMSIDA has prompted the students before sending them to Lumajang. “It is humanitarian work, to help other people. Do it in good deeds, stay aware and safe there. I hope that everything is in order now,” said Dr Sigit.

Afterwards, the Head of Psychology Study Program, Widyastuti MPsi, Psikolog mentioned the humanitarian mission of the students as volunteers in Lumajang. “The student volunteers in Lumajang is a request from MDMC East Java. The program aims to assist Semeru Eruption victims. I hope they can provide the real contribution and advantages to the community,” she said, as reported on the UMSIDA site.

She added that the psychosocial volunteers from UMSIDA could support MDMC East Java to provide psychosocial assistance. They would serve in Sumberwuluh Village, Candipuro, Lumajang to help MDMC East Java and Lumajang that collaborate with UMSIDA.

Muhammadiyah Council for Higher Education, Research, and Development (CHERD) collaborates with the Institute for Research and Development (Balitbang) of Human Resources of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) by signing the Memorandum of Understanding located in the Amphitarium Room of Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD), Tuesday (01/02). The signing procession was conducted by Prof Lincolin Arsyad, the Chairman of Muhammadiyah CHERD and Dr Eng Hary Budiarto MKom, the Head of Balitbang for Human Resources Kemenkominfo RI. The procession was also witnessed by Dr Muchlas MT, the Rector of UAD.

In his remarks, Prof Lincolin Arsyad explained that the MoU serves as the collaboration foundation for both parties to support the Indonesian government program to accelerate digital transformation. “The Memorandum of Understanding aims to support digital transformation establishment in Indonesia through economics based on world-class technological innovation and capability sustained by the proficient human resources and digital-culture communities,” he said.

He expected that in the future, Muhammadiyah-’Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (MHEIs) could disseminate the advancement of education in supporting digital community establishment. “Let us circulate this information to MHEIs for their support in the digital advancement and excellence,” he said. He also prompted the students to learn digital development seriously. “Because in the future, who owns the access of information will run the world,” said Prof Lincolin Arsyad.

On this occasion, Dr Eng Hary Budiarto MKom appreciated the collaboration agreement. The agreement is an urgent move due to the Indonesian efforts in establishing a progressive community in the digital era. “To create a progressive community, we should master digital technology. By this MoU, it can be inevitable,” he said. He also expected the effort to run to create digital communities in 2045 constantly.

Dr Muchlas MT also mentioned that all MHEIs in Indonesia could implement the collaboration. “I hope this collaboration can be followed up to be advantageous programs to human resources development, especially in informatics and recent technology,” he said.

The scope of this collaboration involved human resource development in communication and informatics, data and information exchange that is ethical, safe, responsible, and following applicable regulations, and other activities that both parties have agreed.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Pringsewu (UMPRI) Lampung conducted a Social Contribution activities in Pringsewu Special School. On Friday (21/01), the series that has actualized in Modul Nusantara ended. The UMPRI students joined in inbound Independent Domestic Exchange Student (PMM-DN) UMPRI to lead the event. Twelve students of PMM-DN led Modul Nusantara through the literacy corner establishment.

Pringsewu Special School students have previously received textbooks. Besides books, they were also granted cabinets. It could be beneficial for supporting facilities to establish the literacy corner in Pringsewu Special School. Another advantage earned from the assistance was to instill a culture of literacy in the students. “I hope it can be advantageous for the students and the school,” said Nira Fitria Tauhid MPd as a supervisor in Modul Nusantara.

UMM Discussed Digital Citizenship As PPKn Department Challenge

Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) collaborated with the Association of Indonesian Pancasila, and Civic Education (AP3KnI) held a joint webinar on Saturday (15/01). The webinar raised the theme “Pancasila in Digital Citizenship Era: Challenges, Opportunities, and Prospect for Resilient and Emergent Indonesia”. The webinar was held by Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) department. On this occasion, the Chairman of PPKn department UMM, Drs Moh Mansur, became one of the webinar speakers.

According to Mansur, the digital world rapidly develops and impacts various sectors of human life. For example, the decrease of physical transactions happens in economic aspects due to electronic money. “Besides the digital transaction, the use of social media drags us to involve and connect with the digital world,” he said, as reported on the UMM site.

The other speakers, Prof Dr Kokom Kumalasari MPd, the PPKn lecturer in Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia; Sugeng Winarno MA, the Head of Public Relation UMM; and Dr Nurul Zuriah MSi, the PPKn lecturer in UMM, delivered their materials. Prof Kokom highlighted that the PPKn learning process has to integrate the digital world amidst the school culture as nations need. “The teacher should apply the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge framework (TPACK) in the PPKn learning process. The learning strategy should be focused on Contextual Teaching and Learning & Scientific Learning, Self Regulated Learning, Value-based Education, and Blended Learning,” said Prof Kokom.

In line with Prof Kokom’s statements, Dr Nurul Zuriah explained that the digital citizenship concept could not be separated from the Pancasila learning concept. “Pancasila students represent Indonesian students with global competencies and behaviours based on Pancasila values. Afterwards, automatically, they can be a good digital citizen,” she said.

STIKes Muh Ciamis Collaboration with Moist Care Clinic To Socialize Comprehensive Clinical Practice

The Diploma III of Nursing Science STIKes Muh Ciamis agreed to sign an MoU with Moist Care Clinic Bogor. The agenda aimed to implement the comprehensive clinical practice for modern wound care treatment in the special treatment in wound care in Bogor and Jakarta.

The implementation of learning practice in comprehensive wound care was started with the submission by the Head of STIKes Muhammadiyah Ciamis, H Dedi Supriadi, SKep, Ners, MKes and accepted by the Director of Moist Care Clinic, Irma P Arisanty, S.Kp, RN, WOC(ETN)N. In the submission, Dedi Supriadi prompted the students to actively participate in the Moist Care Clinic for completing the expected competencies.

Ira P Arisanty mentioned the development of modern wound care with the Moist Wound Healing concept that gradually increases in health issues. Besides accelerating the healing process, the moist concept offers aesthetic skin. “The concern of the moist wound care recently has included in the curriculum of nursing education institution in Indonesia,” he said.

According to the Head of Nursing Science Department, Suhanda SKep Ners MKes, STIKes Muh Ciamis students, since a year ago, has added the Modern Wound Care Training in Campus online and offline. “It aimed to provide students to have a new competency and experience about wound care in the community and practical treatment. So this comprehensive clinical practice should be implemented,” he said.

The collaboration of two parties included comprehensive clinical practice and modern practical treatment has been conducted for all STIKes Muhammadiyah Ciamis students. Meanwhile, the coordinator of the comprehensive clinical practice program, Ns Andan Firmansyah, SKep MKep mentioned the schedule of this practice was started from 6 January to 4 February 2022. The total participants were 63 students divided into six groups in every clinic at Bogor and Jakarta. The students were expected to reach their competencies in providing wound care treatment in an updated and modern way.
